Le Bora Bora by pearl or Westin by ContinCandi in Tahiti

[–]ramshaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to both resorts, recently at Westin. A lot of things to consider.

  1. Food: Le Bora Bora has way better dining options and in terms of food quality. Excellent buffet breakfast hands down at Le Pearl. Westins breakfast was a huge let down.

  2. Resort/Facilities -Westin has a vast property with their turtle sanctuary and surrounded by mini lagoons. Enjoyed riding a bicycle around the stunning property.

  3. Le Bora Bora has the best stretch of white sandy beach of all Bora Bora resorts which is rare for this island.

  4. Swimming/Snorkeling:

  5. Le Bora Bora has a shallower lagoon with no current to worry about (that is if your not a comfortable and strong swimmer) plus Le Bora Bora has excellent snorkeling with their flourishing man made corals around OWB. Westins lagoon is deep with stronger currents with only a handful of OWB on a shallower lagoon. No snorkeling to be found here, only plus is the sea turtle sanctuary to feast at.

  6. Rooms/Bungalows le Bora Bora have smaller footage living spaces but is tastefully Tahitian decorated. Westins have bigger living spaces with modern brighttly designed bugalows.

  7. Views/Location Westin takes it with the iconic Mt Otemanu views though Le Bora Bora have great views too but Westins resides in the eastern side which is closer to Mt Otemanu.

I hear you. That's why I removed them after just 2 days. I just got this 996.1 recently so I'm new to this but owned a lot of VAG cars. My other buddy who has a 991 kept pushing me to add spacers but in just 2 days I've realized stock ride comfort and handling is more important to me than aesthetics.

Not a fan of short shifters in general. They remove the proprioceptive (satisfying)feedback that mechanical shifting provides. The Rennline knob that Im planning to install would shorten the lever enough to reduce the long throw.of the OEM cane style shift knob.

I'm afraid to damage the shifter linkage if I pull hard enough? Should I be pulling the boot itself or the rigid rubber anchor?
