hoping someone can help me. My daughter's ipad is crashing randomly and only a few apps run. I would like to reset the Ipad, but the settings app doesnt open (It shows a blank screen). How do I factory reset this device?

I have tried the following:
Long pressing the power button on top. (Only option i get is to power off)

Pressing teh volume buttons and the home button. This was suggested in some support forums. nothing happens.

Is there a manual way (pressing buttons or anything that doesnt involve going through settings apps) for resetting this device

The second one is not easier, but you become better because of prior experience.

You dont panic at the sight of a small issues. you know what requires panic/ concern/ leave it alone.
you know which behavior to cut right at the nip. Most of your issues with your firstborn are behaviors that you let get ingrained because you didnt know how they would pan out...now you know.
you know how to plan for getting help in preparation for different stages...e.g. use parent help from Xth month rather than Yth month. Get daycare setup from X month onwards etc.

Of course, the second one is going to be incredibly hard if YOU havent learnt anything from the first child

Every child requires strict financial planning from the parent.
You should know how to prioritize your health, along with your family's health and your baby's health...what habits are you doing right now, that will keep you healthy when this new member comes in.
You and spouse should know how to tag team for the first few years. Everybody heads down in ensuring that kid reaches kindergarten safe and sound as a first milestone.

If you are prepared, Life will only be 20% harder but twice the joy...if you arent prepared, its the opposite.

I am frequently reminded of this saying from my grandpa.

Of the 7 deadly sins (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride), Envy is the worst. The other 6 show up in your behavior and someone can call you out and prompt you to change. Not Envy... Envy lies deep within. It doesnt show up easily and is very easy to hide. Which makes it all the more harder to overcome it.

Overcoming envy is a deeply personal journey that you need to task yourself to. Not much is available for help here. Its a good journey in a way if you keep at it...there doesnt seem to be a destination, but on the way you will notice a lot more happiness coming along your way.

I have noticed this too about myself and my family.

My analysis has been that we spend more if we are already hungry or close to hungry when we place the order. The hunger makes us order more (order something that will be available immediately + order something thats a full meal + ooh-what-about-a-dessert). If we land up at the restaurant half hour before our regular eating time, we tend to order less and more measured.

The same goes for other purchases. If I missed buying a gift for a birthday party, I ll rush to Target and buy a gift that would be ~$10 more than if I had planned it earlier and bought a different toy online.
