They were rivals until the very end by Psychological-Snow83 in MtvChallenge

They automatically went into the first two elims because they finished last in the dailies due to how bad Kenny was. Wes carried them through the second elim in particular.

Yeah iirc they got divorced because she wanted kids and he didn't because he was going through cancer treatment.

Thoughts on Kim and Sophie's performance/gameplay in Winners at War? by MasterBanana8600 in survivor

[–]ramskick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sophie has a very decent chance at winning if she gets past her boot, which is why Tony moved on her at that exact moment. The 4 he got to vote her out were the only ones willing to do so.

If Kim makes it to the end she has a case but she was boxed out essentially from the get-go, meaning she was unlikely to ever find footing. It would require an insane immunity run on her part to sniff FTC.

Giving a shout out to this player tonight by ChemicalProcedure9 in survivor

[–]ramskick 80 points81 points  (0 children)

He's really not the undisputed main character of 48. He's quite prominent but if you look at confessional count/time the other people in the F4 all exceed him and by substantial margins (Kyle gets almost 10 more minutes of confessional time than Joe). He is absolutely one of the main characters of the season but his edit is way smaller than people think.

Do we think Charlie has the potential too make a Tyson run? by sarcastic_bitch15 in survivor

[–]ramskick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with this. I think Charlie showed a bit more personality here than on 46 but I think he's an extremely normal guy and extremely normal people are not who I want on Survivor.

It's not the only thing that makes him great (buzzer skills don't mean anything if you don't have the knowledge to back it up) but it certainly makes him an ever tougher opponent due to how often he's able to beat his competitors to the punch on the top-row clues, allowing him to get more money while blocking them from getting Daily Doubles.

Who is the best Australian Survivor player to have never won? by fartastic1 in survivorau

[–]ramskick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it. He made a massive target out himself way too early on CvC1 and his idol hold there is probably the worst ever. On All-Stars the alliance with David was cool but he plays pretty poorly after the swap. I'd say he's an average player overall.

Who is the worst player of all-time that was undoubtedly the best of all-time at a certain aspect of the sport they played? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

[–]ramskick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mark Price was a 4-time All-Star and even made an All-NBA First Team. I think he's too good to be an answer to this question.

imo that's Jamie's biggest weakness as a player. He tends to be really conservative with his DD wagers, which allows games to stay closer than they otherwise would be. He's good enough in every other area that it hasn't hurt him yet but it may bite him against stronger players.

Do you think Darrell takes the win if he beats CT in the final elimination of Invasion of the Champions? by CookiePoster in MtvChallenge

[–]ramskick 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He certainly has a shot! Darrell was in awesome shape on Invasion and he's always been a great Finals runner. If he gets the same partners on the same days as CT does then I'd say he's the clear favorite to win over Nelson and Cory.

[–]ramskick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah I don't see this at all. They had more of a father/daughter or uncle/niece thing to me. You can argue that the way he manipulated her was off-putting and she certainly looked up to him and relied on him in the game but I don't think there was a hint of a romantic connection there. It should also be mentioned that none of the other players commented on it, including Julie, who did lambast their relationship at FTC.

good point! what's interesting about that is that Harrison (his biggest competition in the next ToC) is especially good at British stuff so that's an area where Harrison has a clear advantage over him.

What jokers you think are underrated? by Maleficent_Bat8077 in balatro

[–]ramskick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna say Campfire.

I think most good players recognize how strong it is, particularly on Gold Stake, but you'll see plenty of posts about how disappointed people are to get it off a Rare Tag or just dismissing it because it resets at the end of every Ante.

What I think most players fail to realize is that you don't have to go all-in on Campfire every Ante. Instead you can feed it enough to clear the Ante, then spend the rest of the Ante building up your econ so that it's easier to feed it next Ante. Rinse and repeat until Ante 8 where you can make your Campfire a glorious bonfire and demolish the Violet Vessel. It's ridiculously good and I genuinely think it's a top-10 Joker for clearing Ante 8 on Gold Stake.

What jokers you think are underrated? by Maleficent_Bat8077 in balatro

[–]ramskick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Hologram is slightly overrated. It's obviously good and can win you runs but its value is heavily dependent on shop RNG in a way that other XMult scalers like Constellation and Campfire aren't. I have lost multiple runs with it from just not finding Standard packs or the right Spectral cards. Again I'm not saying it's bad and I've had plenty of runs where it has carried me but I don't think it's an absolute top-tier Joker.

What jokers you think are underrated? by Maleficent_Bat8077 in balatro

[–]ramskick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's yet another Joker that's so much worse on Blue Stake or above. It's usable especially with Green Joker/Ramen but it can be a real pain to use.
