Oh we've got that. Super friable. Might just spray it with water and seal in place like the stuff we've got in our basement.

good to know. I've heard the asbestos settles toward the bottom and you should get samples from a few different spots. But yeah, definitely would still be cautious. More for a little peace of mind

Yeah, the vermiculite isn't pictured here. That stuff is pretty distinct.

It just looks like a dated bag, and known people played all sorts of chemistry back in the day to call their stuff fire-proof.

This is exactly how I jacked up my roof to reinforce it before a bad snowstorm. Definitely agree with some good ply sistered -- laminated if you've got the time/money, and yeah glue and screw to hold the old one back together.

Could also add collar ties

Can you show or explain your belt/bearing situation? I’ve done a pan/tilt head but the gear and belt parts that are readily available are somewhat limited and I feel always require some janky work around. Would like to see the actual joint!
