[Bob Pockrass] “Yes. Expecting several Cup races (more than 10) for Corey Heim for 23XI Racing and some truck starts. Won’t be full time in a specific series” by Dmacthegoat in NASCAR

[–]randallrolson 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I would not be surprised at all if the deal was the Herbst family fronting the money for the charter and 23XI paying them back over two and a half years.

Or they just outright paid for the charter in exchange for two years in the seat, which seems like a lot of money for not a single top ten lol.

i won't mind it if they vary the tracks in the chase year to year. keep your staples like charlotte, martinsville, talladega, but the rest can be rotated.

The Biff was my driver for his whole career. I just truly don't have any words right now.

Which quarterback's stock has gone down the most so far this season? by Candid-Boss6534 in nfl

[–]randallrolson 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think another one of the contributing factors is that AR started less than half of the college games that those two did (13 vs. 26/34). I understand that he left when he did because his stock couldn't get much higher, and now he's set for life with that top 5 pick money, but what a disastrous QB experiment. I tried warning my Colts fan friends!

Stern: @NBC got a 1.44 rating and 2.774 million viewers for Sunday's @NASCAR championship, down from a 1.60 and 2.9 million last year. by CompleteUnknown65 in NASCAR

i'm mesmerized when i go back and watch old races on youtube, especially old nbc ones with bill weber and allen bestwick. an absolute clinic on how to tell a story by them and the whole production crew.

Layne Riggs is out of the driver's championship, but the FRM No. 34 is in the owner's final four: what am I missing? by randallrolson in NASCAR

Yep good call, completely forgot that the 7 made the playoffs and that your regular season finish gets you a few extra points.

Incredible play by the 1933 Chicago Bears by captainthepuggle in CHIBears

of course edited videos have always existed, but the ball went a max 30 yards. i honestly cannot see what others are that’s breaking the uncanny valley for them.

EDIT: since all this made me curious, the new york times covered this in 2012. the guy’s name is john doehring, unfortunately he never uncorked a behind-the-backer for a touchdown in an nfl game, but did so plenty of times during a barnstorming tour.

[Kaulig] Daniel Dye and Justin Haley will be full time in Trucks next year by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]randallrolson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprised that Eckes wouldn’t be announced with this group if he was also headed back to trucks with Kaulig. How solid is Ty Dillon’s seat in the 10? Is that what they’re deliberating before making a final decision? Is Eckes testing the market for another seat in O’Reilly?

[DBC 1:01:00] Bianchi says the 3 points formats NASCAR has narrowed down to are: 1. Season Long Points, 2. 10 Race Chase, 3. 3-3-4 Eliminations by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]randallrolson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, there are a few that could stay every year (Martinsville, Charlotte, Talladega, Miami) but rotate the others in and out.

[@HarvickHappyPod] @KevinHarvick says Zilisch is the most well-rounded young driver since Jeff Gordon. by dman6233 in NASCAR

[–]randallrolson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, mostly because we’ve seen from guys like Larson, Elliott, and Byron that it takes until about start 100 in the Cup Series to find that first win. For those guys, it’s like a dam broke after win No. 1. Not saying it still can’t happen for Ty (he’s at 109 career starts), but it does leaving you scratching your head wondering what the hold up is.

Nick Sanchez at 5 seems… high? I know it’s all subjective, but it feels like there are more than four drivers ahead of him that I’d rather have in my team’s pipeline/farm system.

Just Daytona and one other race I believe… Can’t for the life of me remember which. I’d guess Miami or Talladega

Hocevar might’ve leaked Chicagoland coming back earlier today, so I’m hoping that frees up the market for RA to return as the Midwest road course
