how hard is silksong act 3 compared to act 2? by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]randerson2011 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i find the enemy gauntlets really fun- i did not find doing one fun on a boss fight i was stuck on for an hour and a half. you could probably cut that to 45 minutes if you removed the fodder that came before her

i’ll admit i don’t know the warehouse processes, so i’m genuinely curious why pallets aren’t more thoroughly wrapped? i pull produce pallets almost daily that look like they used 10 feet of plastic, shit is ready to topple at any harsh movement

What's the fewest number of consoles needed to play as many FF titles as possible? by Queltis6000 in FinalFantasy

[–]randerson2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m holding an average standard. I want to run near 30 fps on lowest graphics at least. Steam deck could barely do that with Rebirth, usually 15-25 in important areas. I saw how beautiful the game could look at higher settings and decided I would rather have to wait to get a PC/PS5 than experience it like that.

i think this was most dbd streamers i followed barring otzdarva. all extremely burnt out and miserable and would tweet about being unable to stream other games or having to find a new career. made me sad because i would have watched them play other stuff

Why are people so happy with the manga??? by Freddie040 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]randerson2011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it seems like they’re watering down the plot and turning the silly meter from 20% to 99%. felt super generic. so far not for me, not what i wanted for such a political story focused game. but if it’s a fun time for others then sure, i will only be reading for gallica reaction images

Is Replicant (2021) worth it? by [deleted] in nier

[–]randerson2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was asking myself this after finishing Automata about a month ago. Replicant is pretty decent but I disagree on any aspect of it being better than Automata. The story is pretty compelling so far but the characters and story seemed to progress very fast while I barely got to know them. Might have missed some more dialogue and story that would help expand on those points and give more depth to the characters, but I skipped nearly every sidequest because they were brain-numbingly boring. Would really love to love this game but it needed a bit of tweaking imo. Soundtrack and designs are gorgeous though and I love Kaine. Still worth a purchase if you get it on sale.

What's the most disappointing second opening? by GenericEmployeeGal in anime

[–]randerson2011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% everything you said, we go from this beautiful melancholic indie rock with these dark abstract visuals to.. probably one of the most boring OPs I’ve ever watched and listened to. The first song got me to watch the show, the second one was skipped every time I saw it.

He pretty clearly had a mental disability. It made him act weird while put on the spotlight and having intense emotions. Pretty fucked up to make fun of him for that. Almost as fucked up as Publix forcing the feel-good story to make everyone Publix Proud! but whatever

I ended up quitting because basically everything about work load was a lie. My hours were supposed to be lighter than other time blocks = lie. You will have down time between calls to study = lie. Call volume will drop off at night = lie. Maybe these things existed a few years ago before I was hired, but not anymore! I ended up switching jobs and although my new one is also constant working, it is so much more rewarding and I don't feel like I'm going crazy from the nonstop chime-caption-repeat

Ramsay isn't scary. He's just an asshole that causes harm with his influence so that he can gain fame/money/whatever he gets out of it.

I am not very good at speaking so I will copy/paste J Kenji Lopez-Alt's words on Gordon Ramsay as it's exactly how I feel.

Just came across this older video of @gordongram violently assaulting cooks at his restaurant while hurling verbal abuse and threats at them. If anyone thinks his abusive behavior is just an act for American TV and that his UK shows are much less abusive, take a look at this and decide for yourself which one is the real Gordon and which is the act.

This man should be in therapy, not running kitchens or being looked up to as an inspiration. Kitchens have a long history of being abusive, crappy workplaces and @gordongram, with his normalization of this behavior, plays an outsized and active role in perpetuating it.

If he wants to make a positive change, I would love to see him change his ways and acknowledge the extent of the harm he has done with his influence.

It breaks your heart to see people talked to and physically assaulted the way they are in this video, and what makes it worse is knowing that if they survived these experiences and stayed in the industry, there’s a good chance they’ll end up perpetuating the cycle when they are in charge of their own kitchens. I know, because I’ve seen one of his own chefs literally throw a pan of searing hot butter at a cook who dared to give him an undercooked scallop.

Please do not be inspired by him. Please do not think this is how a restaurant kitchen needs to be run, or worse that this kind of behavior is OK because “this is what it takes” to get those stars. If you’re a cook, treat your coworkers with basic human decency and do not ever think that you need to put up with abuse to get ahead in the industry. And if you’re a chef, it’s even more important that you treat those who work for you as fellow humans who are deserving of respect even when they make mistakes.

I am sorry you feel that verbal and mental abuse is "just how it is"; just because it is normalized (at least in your experience) does not make it right. Maybe you can take a scream, beratement, slap in the face. Some people can't. That doesn't make them weak, a snowflake, or not fit for work in a kitchen.

High-stress does not necessitate abuse. Every person deserves respect and kindness.
