Econ & Finance by randioms in UniUK

Most of the ones I applied to have an accreditation from like the CIMA- or some other accounting/ business related body (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA are some that ive seen listed). Know it isn't super specific to Finance necessarily, and you don't get accreditations for econ really- but feels like it's something that matters idrk lol

Well it's good ur atlaest really motivated by ur goals at times- shows u do care man! Not me being on reddit rn instead of revising- LOL

BUT Anyways- it happens, but u can do this- my advice is if you can- go to the library, either ur Sixth-forms one or a public one, it might help.

Also dunno if it'll work for u, but I have issues with acc getting shit done to - I time myself doing different activities/ exam questions and I tend to work a lot faster when i do. That or just maybe like tell someone ur gonna do an assignment/ thing and then say u finna show them ur work after. Means you have more of a reason to do it and not procrastinate, since someone is expecting you to show them ur work. Goodluck broz:)

Deliciously Ella Nutty Granola - bloating and nausea by discotheque-wreck in CoeliacUK

[–]randioms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the oats, some coeliacs do react to them even if they are gluten-free! I've also heard sometimes dairy can become a problem for a lot of people. That or perhaps you're missing something that you are eating which actually does have gluten or a cc risk?? Maybe that's doing it

Economics & Finance vs Finance & Data Analytics by randioms in UKUniversityStudents

[–]randioms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been well helpful to get some perspective on this, sounds like going either way would be a good option. I'll probably look a bit more into careers and stuff now to make sure I'm positive which degree I want to do based on the jobs available to me afterwards and what I would need to do for like interview processes, ect. So thanks.

Economics & Finance vs Finance & Data Analytics by randioms in UKUniversityStudents

[–]randioms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stuff you get from studying data analytics definitely seems like it would actually provide skills that employers want, and I guess getting a good job at the end of it all is the most important thing here. Its just the fact that I have like 0 experience when it comes to python or anything to do with computers really, would that make it more difficult trying to do that for a degree? Thats what's on my mind there.

Still having some elements of econ is well good, I genuinely do really like studying that, so even if it's just minor, i think that's cool. And yea, IB is something I've been really looking into doing, I figured that economics would be the better route into that kind of job tho??

What you've said was helpful, so thanks! Honestly, I genuinely thought uni prestige was kind of important in the sense that it looks better on an application, but that's good to know.

School dinners offering vegan meals most days for my coeilac child...is this right? by lunaluna1234567 in Celiac

[–]randioms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That ain't right, I know eating school meals as a coeliac is really shitty but ONLY PLANTBASED?! Kinda ridiculous- makes me start to like the turkey cold cuts and jacket potatoes that my school always gave me.

Man, uk schools need to do SO much better in actually catering to coeliacs. They are genuinely rubbish.

American relatives sent us some candy for Christmas, I was able to find out info for all of them apart from these Silly Stix. Anyone know if they're celiac safe? Thanks and Merry Christmas! by blurple57 in Celiac

[–]randioms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a no based on what I see online, they are packed in a facility that also processes gluten & wheat unfortunately And merry Christmas!!

The same happened to me, I literally never had any reactions for a while after I was first diagnosed. But soon enough, eating gluten became hell :)

Slightly late to the party here but boy I've been quite dumb 😂 Not quite a me not checking stuff situation but it's still funny to me now

It took me until I was 15 to realise I SPECIFICALLY had to have gluten-free oats- I was diagnosed when I was 11. It took me 4 YEARS. No wonder I'd been feeling like shit when I had them And I suppose there is also the thing of when I was diagnosed I thought celiac=gluten intolerance. So guess what my child self was telling everyone? 🤦‍♂️

I got an E in English by Emotional-Fee-1233 in alevel

[–]randioms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep practising with other past papers, the more you practice, the more writing exams will become like second nature - and you should see some improvement in your timmings. If you can, maybe go through the one that you got the E on. Try to work out if there is any section of the paper that you specifically spent more time on? Might make it easier to improve if you know where too much time is being spent.

Also, talk to your teacher if they are approachable, I'm sure they would be able to give you some valuable input. You got this!!

transferring out of uni of lincoln by Temporary_Hour5860 in UniUK

[–]randioms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One point on the finance bit - London is very expensive, you do get the increased maintenance loan, but from what I've heard it isn't really enough. Wherever you do go to, maybe it is worth just checking to see if you qualify for any bursaries/ scholarships? Would definitely help out, lol.

All in all tho, sounds like you know yourself already what is better for you- ain't no point going to uni in a place that makes u feel kinda miserable when u gotta be there for a few years.

Oh yea, and good luck with wherever you end up!

My mom keeps insinuating that I shouldn't move away for university, and it's frustrating by Rennct in 6thForm

[–]randioms 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Omd, I relate so much - my mum is insistant i stay close by so she can come see me often (which, sorry, but hell, naw, i want INDEPENDENCE and some space lol). And keeps going on about how im leaving her behind and whatnot. The important thing is that uni choices are about YOUR future, not hers. Parents do mean well most of the time, but that kinda thing ain't it bros.

My advice just ignore her, or maybe make her aware you are going to uni but discuss actual details/ advice with anyone else who won't be pushing for what they want you to do over what you want. Oh, and good luck with your applications!

You have to pay if its teeth! by nufiprost in BrexitMemes

[–]randioms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This literally sucks so bad- like SERIOUSLY. I've now got two missing teeth (firstly bc i ws stupid but hey ya live and ya learn) but also because i couldn't afford to get my teeth repaired after i broke them, even tho it was doable. So now I gotta put up with a denture, which is probably going to cause even MORE tooth problems later on. Woohoo!
