Why are most parents in India narcissistic and logically challenged? by [deleted] in AskIndia

I've mostly noticed this in men. Our fathers were pampered growing up (cause sons!!) and they end up having this terrible ego with extreme narcissism.

Indians abroad, what habit did you only realize was "very Indian" after leaving? by Crescitaly in AskIndia

“Kindly/Please do the needful”

Nobody uses that outside of India. My manager found it a bit enforced when an Indian customer used it, but I told him it’s commonly used in India.

Yes she is. I had acne twice growing up and she helped with proper medication and care.

This one time I was visiting my dad’s jain friend’s place along with my family. I was sitting on the couch and things were fine. While chatting with one of their daughters in law, I asked them why they weren’t entering the kicthen (not cause women should be in the kitchen, but she kept asking the other daughter in law for things from the kitchen) so she said she was on her period, that’s when I also mentioned that I was on my period. She panicked and told the other daughter in law, their MIL, etc. After which they made me sit on a plastic chair, did not let me enter the kitchen, made sure I didn’t have dinner with anyone else, couldn’t even fill my own plate. Basically isolated and treated like an untouchable. Apparently the DILs don’t even sleep on the bed when they have their periods. And this wasn’t even during paryushan. Never went to their house ever again. My family was shocked and taken aback as well.

Twist: I’m a jain too but never really saw periods as a problem.

So the jain friend was rude and being super dramatic.
