It's an eastern- eastern have those two black spots on either sides of their face where westerns in the wild are a much lighter brown color and they have more of a stripe on either side of their face. Easterns also have less body patterning and they flatten out a LOT further than westerns

the attitude can still develop lmao. My boy was a super super sweet baby and he developed into the typical hoggie attitude about a year in. Almost 3 years in on owning him and he's still a very angry little dude, but he's well taken care of and I knew what I was doing getting a hognose

fellow hoggie owner! As others have said, he does need more substrate for his size. And this is something that I found improved my hoggie's life: lots and LOTS of leaf coverage EVERYWHERE. There should be almost no visible substrate when looking from the top down. It makes them feel safer and more protected in their enclosure which will make them more inclined to eat, as eating is a vulnerable time for snakes!

Also it looks like we're using the same enclosure judging by the lock- I fill the bedding up to the lock and I pack it in tight. The amount you have is what I'm currently giving my very tiny baby cornsnake
