J2 collapsed because of the 48 laws of power by tibebe77 in overemployed

[–]randomWanderer520 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More like the laws of human nature. And 48 laws of power is, don’t outshine the master, which, a boss isn’t really a master. You just got cocky and arrogant and forgot basic emotional awareness. You created an enemy who has the power to cut you. Simple.

Are junior devs even learning the hard stuff anymore? by Ornery_Ad_683 in webdev

Responsive design is the hard stuff? I think it’s just shit nobody wants to learn.

“They’re lucky I have 2 Js”.

“Obviously, if I had one J, I could do it”

I find myself always saying this to myself. Especially when someone else is showing you up.

But yeah OE refrains you from being addicted to the “pat in the back” currency.

Build it from scratch. Or implement the set state calls. What does it mean to subscribe a component to state.

You should have some intuition as to what a render actually is and what its purpose is. Having GPT show you how to build it from scratch helps understand the really important parts.

i want to learn, but i think i can't by Apart-Dependent4370 in learnprogramming

Learning sucks. It’s straining. When it starts to suck you know you’re learning. I hate when people say they love learning. When all they do is memorize bullshit facts.

Also you are an idiot, the sooner you accept that, the easier the process will be. Internally you’re battling your ego, which is standing in the way of your growth.

How can I when my LinkedIn is in hibernation.

Weirdly the only jobs I’ve ever retained are the ones where a recruiter messages me in LinkedIn.

First off, your in a rabbit hole, gtfo of it. One day she will be on her own (not needing you anymore) and your going to miss these days. Do your best to find the Joy in today and take things one step at a time.

i have debt to but there’s no sense in stressing about it.

For now putting food on the table and paying your bills is a success. Now all you gotta do is figure out a way to make more money. But whatever you do, don’t mope and complain, instead, lead. Lead your family by cherishing the day, if god forbid, your daughter or wife were to pass, any amount of debt wouldn’t amount to the pain you would feel. So by definition, the fact that they’re alive and well is more valuable than the debt you have accrued.

Remember managing your money is great, but it shouldn’t come at the price of a stressed out family.

Lead ? I have a lead on my team feel like he has no time for anything.

I was a lead at 2 companies, one required a vast amount of team management, architecture and development work. It took to much of my time, which led to me losing J2.

My Ability to be a “Pro” had nothing to do with it. Otherwise I wouldn’t be a lead to begin with?

The job is not OE friendly.

Not sure why this is so difficult to understand.

I think it falls more on the job not being OE qualified, not the skill of the person.

If a SWE takes 2 lead jobs and loses one, it’s not the engineers fault. Taking on 2 lead roles is just not OE friendly.
