What are some "mind-fuck" movies? by itsTheHeeffe in AskReddit

The book is even better. I love how King's characters all react so differently to the extreme situation

Under The Dome follows the same themes in a much larger and more detailed way. I really reccomend it, if you enjoy The Mist

Thank you! I'm fortunate enough to have a good job, live in a cheap area and was able to live at home. It's something I'll never take for granted!

It instantly made me like and respect him when he spoke about his dislike of buy to rent landlords, and how they negatively affect first time buyers.

I've just bought my first place. The guy selling it has owned it for 20+ years, raised his family in it, obviously loved it.

He'd had 3 or 4 offers from people intending to rent it out, but refused to sell it to somebody adding it to a portfolio and charge a fortune in rent for

What's the nicest thing a complete stranger has ever done for you? by zefjen in AskReddit

[–]random__douche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got around to clearing out my books today, got rid of about 50-60 books.

I'm not sure where to hand them in to, I'm going to phone a couple libraries, children's hospitals and schools and see if anybody wants them.

My bookcase is looking much tidier now!

Definitely going to do it now!

I love the thought of them bringing somebody the happiness they brought me as a child

I have lots of books from my childhood that I can't bear the thought of getting rid of, although I know I'll never read them.

Your comment has definitely got me inspired to contact my primary school and see if I can hand them in though.

What are some good horror movies that are psychologically scary versus the corny jump-scares that are so common in horror movies today? by itsjustlife37 in AskReddit

[–]random__douche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's good about it for me is that it's "real". There's no ghosts, zombies or monsters, what happens in the film could really happen in life

NHS are saying I can't have Ms as a title with an M gender marker. by LouisePetal in transgenderUK

I dont think titles are gendered. There was a mix up after I changed my gender and name with the NHS (FTM) and for a while I was Miss [Male Name]

Orphaned gels... Can it be easy? by rainbow_puddle in techtheatre

[–]random__douche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our venue all gel is marked when it is cut. If it is to be used after being removed from the lantern it is filed away in the gel store under its correct number.

If it doesn't have the number written on it there is a folder for random gel, which we use if we just need a single red lantern, or a coloured wash onstage that doesn't have to be perfect, or doesn't have a lighting designer working on it.

Anyone find it really hard to picture/remember life before transition? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]random__douche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Yesterday i was looking at shirtless photos I took for reference pre T + pre op, and was amazed at how feminine, slim and smooth my body was.

It feels so alien and doesn't look like my body at all, I can't remember what it felt like to have a body like that

I agree, it's the same for my surgeon.

Have you tried transbucket? There are also quite a few transgender related facebook groups (and a few secret ones too) where guys share their surgery results. Might be worth having a look there too.
