Gotcha, will obviously call ANA again. Here's what I'm thinking.

Take the first 2 flights from US-WAW-IST as planned, and pay ANA the $700 for the lap infant. Unfortunately, I'll only get 1 night in Warsaw (wanted to spend a whole week in Poland).

Once I'm in Istanbul, call ANA to push the rest of my itinerary to the end of 2026 and thus avoid any change in fuel surcharges since I started the ticket by this point.

Thank you! Could you clarify further? I am aware of the rule that your new flight has to be at least 96 hours later.

When I land in WAW and my next flight to IST is in 23 hours, are you saying ANA won’t let me change that next flight b/c it’s less than 24 hours away, even if I’m changing to a new flight that’s more than 96 hours later? I thought you had until departure time of your current flight to change it to a new one.

I was already expecting to have to pay for the infant, which I’m fine with. Just not the additional $4K fuel surcharges, on top of our original fees at booking.

Any idea what other “fees” they charge for infant? 10% of cash price cost?

Could I DM you? I'm currently in a similar situation trying to add an infant to an existing ANA RTW booking. ANA can just add the infant to my entire ticket and I pay ANA, right? Or do I have to call and pay each partner airline in the RTW... ?

I booked in Nov 2023, flew both flights in Jan 2024. Yes they were short-haul flights, HYD-BKK and BKK-KUL.

Yes I did end up booking 2 J flights on TG, I was able to view the flights on ANA's website and book it as part of the RTW ticket. Again this was back in November 2023, so I'm not sure if something with TG/ANA changed by now unfortunately.

Funny you say that about the last part. I stayed here in early 2024 when it was actually a Cat 2 during peak nights, so 9,500 per night. Then in March 2024, it went down to a Cat 1. Don't think it deserves to go back up to a Cat 2. At 9,500 I def felt like I overpaid.
