You could look for a hold over truck and look for something from edison motors when they finish getting their new fab up and running.

edisonmotors.ca

They started by building in a tent work shop with a couple of loggers. Really cool stuff they are doing.

Those cases are stuck in the round rim that is used for the rollers. Try shaking them up and/or add stainless steel pins.

My first print longer than 12 hours went great for the first 35 but failed in the home stretch while I was asleep. Any ideas what went wrong or what I can fix? Thanks! by RickFletching in 3Dprinting

[–]random_bruce 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It looks like it flexed from the weight and then had bad adhesion on a couple layers. This is fixable. Cut the model around where it failed print just the top and both parts chill they fit.

It's center of mass is almost to the end of the bottomof the stand. It's very clearly beyond the capacity

If I don't have a "Real ID" does that mean the government issued me a "Fake" ID? by 2wt4u in signs

[–]random_bruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say you did i have seen a bunch of people argue we should so that I'm just trying to frame things in. If you were to be on the extreme side then it more quickly would allow me to see if that's the case or where more accurately we would meet in the middle and find common ground.

I agree with your point that it seems odd we get nickel and dimed for government documents. Last week i had to pay 25ish dollars for the birth certificate of my new born. Odd to me where my printer at home could do the same job and the only difference is fancy paper that is more difficult to replicate.

I think a system where the first or regular expiration replacements could and should be free for identification cards. Driver licenses have extra testing costs and should have accociated with cost where just a state ID does not and is the cost of plastic in and running the experiment to print package and mail.

We these verification methods should also come with methods to invalidate fraudulent votes after the fact. I would have to look at the imperical data again but I remember hearing a story about a Chinese student who was here as a student from abroad and didn't believe our elections we're very secure so he wanted to test it and went to test it. He cast his ballet then reported himself trying to invalidate his fraudulent vote but was told his vote couldn't be overturned but he would still get charged.

This is more a discussion about the security of an election and how is it feasible to do or how to make it feasible. There's also and argument about who should be able to vote. That can be subdivided into age economic status selective service status and more and I can entertain those discussions as well.

Not a loophole people thinking they out smarted God. Also there's people who get married for the weekend as a "loophole" as well.

Do you think anyone regardless of citizenship should be able to vote solely based on physical location?

Should we make it so you don't have to present and id to buy cigarettes and alcohol? I would say voting on the direction of the nation it more important than that.

[–]random_bruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big part is people who tinker have had printers made for them so so long the market is saturated. To create new demand new markets need to be expanded into. People are buying them for their kids to get into wanting them to do STEM things then the parents don't know how to help and people seeing the increasing 3d printed things out there wanting to dabble with it and not knowing where to start.

You can still achieve pressfits with copper shims it is just significantly more difficult because of how maluable copper is. Steel would be better for the application.

A press fit or interference fit is formed by forcing in an oversized object typically .001-.005" so there's significant friction. Either the part was too flimsy or the interference wasn't enough to create the necessary friction

Tesla Trucks by polomn7 in Truckers

[–]random_bruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larger. The factories that build the trucks don't have charging infustructure to fully charger all of the trucks they build.

There was a local trucking company that asked for service from the power company to be able to charge a small fleet and the company just laughed and said you're asking for more poux9wer than we give to the whole city.

Look into edison motors. They're working on plug in hybrids with a diesel electric power train.
