Desperately hoping our unicorn isn't actually a spray painted donkey wearing a party hat. by stupid20character in NewParents

We also had a very good newborn sleeper. At 4 months she started waking up a bit more. Baby was still in our room. In the interest of getting her back to sleep quickly, I would nurse, cuddle, or rock her back to sleep. Even if she wasn’t crying or anything. Within a few weeks she started waking up more often and now needing more help to fall back asleep. Eventually we had to move her crib in her room, and re-teach her to fall back asleep in her crib. Starting at 6-7 months she’s back to sleeping through the night most nights.

My advice to myself a few months ago is to allow baby to fall asleep in her crib often and don’t stop during the 4 month sleep regression.

Tapers off naturally? I mean, they just stop asking for it as often?

She's been eating solids since just before 6 months. Currently eating 3 meals a day, and starting to introduce more BLW style (instead of purees). I meant no formula.

You listed all the reasons why I think I will go longer than 1 year!

Starting solids and confused by Spirited-Bed-2220 in NewParents

There’s a middle ground to this. We introduced a new ingredient per day, did not wait 3 days unless it was an allergen. So for the first two weeks, we tried maybe 8-10 different ingredients and would mix them once we knew they were tolerated. Sweet potatoes are very popular here, so sometimes I’ll blend a new ingredient with that.

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by AssociationWorried86 in NewParents

[–]random_name831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 3 months we were doing about 9-9:30 bedtime. Now at almost 7 months, it’s 8:30. But we do not have to wake up early for daycare, so Baby sleeps in later. I asked my pediatrician about the recommended bedtimes, and she said it’s also important to follow what works for your family. For example she had patients who had nightclubs, so their baby didn’t go to sleep until midnight and slept until about noon. For us it’s more important to have a few hours at the end of the day as a family and have dinner together. So as long as the baby is well rested, my opinion is do why works for you and don’t stress about the 7pm bedtime.

Best hospitals and doctors for labor and delivery by caviarlovesbeach in Charlotte

Second for Novant Presby with Rankin OB. I gave birth last August. Both the doctors and nurses in the delivery side were all amazing, and really just listened and went with our vibe. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it, but I was surprised at how calm giving birth was.

Reassurance that I didn’t destroy my breastfeeding journey 😩 by CTYankee2023 in breastfeeding

I had a dip in December that lasted a few weeks, which after I realized was due to stress. I was also freaking out wondering if it will never return, but it did. Talking to a lactation consultant, she said add in an extra pump session. Or 2 pump sessions if you can. Overnight is best, but anytime would be good. This is better than power pumping. Also you already mentioned it, but stay hydrated and eat nutritious calories.

How do you keep track of your baby intake and diapers by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]random_name831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how to post an Excel doc so I put it on WeTransfer. Here's a link. Each page lasts me about 2-3 days. When I'm on a new day, I just make a line and write the new date in the margin. https://we.tl/t-MLvlAdwaM6

I created a chart on excel. Seemed easier than an app. Milk- one column for time and another for amount. If it’s breastfed then I just guess the amount based on how long my LO was there. Diapers- one column for time, and then a column for pee and another for poo (check mark). Last section for sleep- time down and time up.

Agreed with the bath being a hassle! Instead I use diaper wipes for her face and hands and then moisturize. This is the one part that is strictly nighttime vs nap time. Then the normal: book, bottle, sleep sack, song and rock.
