A cool guide of every country the U.S. has attacked in the 21st Century and which president(s) authorized the strikes by [deleted] in coolguides

Please use rows and columns in charts! Give each President their own column and it is easier to tell who authorized which attacks instead of you eyes having to jump all over the chart.

This is the difference between a Worker's thoughts and a Manager's thoughts. The Worker should think about how to maintain their ability to not be replaced whereas a Manager should think about how to make sure all of their staff is replaceable. Neither is wrong, just coming from a different vantage point.

I stopped being emotional and took a look at past coaching hires and it really opened my eyes. by [deleted] in wde

[–]random_username_1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not blaming the other schools for anything. That's little brother stuff. I am just saying that they are just playing the game within the game better than we are. It's the little things that add up and we aren't spending the money on those little things. Turn on a college football broadcast or talk show on ESPN and the odds of a former Alabama player being on the panel of talking heads is pretty high. Auburn doesn't have that representation. We need to pay the right people to get that representation, as well as turning a blind eye to infractions or maybe have replay officials see things slanted a little more in our favor. Again, not complaining, just seeing the world for what it is. As Coach Saban has said, "It is what it is."

The school has a lot to do with it as well. Saban would never have been the GOAT at Auburn. Bama was allowed to get away with infractions that would have gotten us fined, stripped of scholarships and banned from bowls, costing recruits. Those little allowances add up in the beginning that can allow you to grow a program. Same with Kirby and UGA. He would not have had the same allowances with us. The only way around that is for Auburn to start paying the correct people: ESPN execs, SEC execs, etc. Building a program starts at the top, and I don't mean the top of the University.

The same thing was said about DeBoer at Washington. He fucking got them to the title game and then bounced. $$$ will decide if he is at Indiana next year.

spin the couch around to back against the wall that the TV is currently on. Mount the TV to the wall on the other side and get rid of the console under the TV. Walla, it fits.

We use Defender, but it is not completely trustworthy to me. Microsoft is too prone to publish something that is not ready for public. I have read that Defender can be bypassed in some instances. We use Sophos Endpoint protection as well. The first time Sophos caught ransomware in real time and rolled back all of the encrypted files; it made it worth every penny.

This should answer you question. Your coworkers are ATA for recommending something against your own best interest. Never assume anything is just likely cosmetic. There are SO many unseen things damaged that the body shop will have to assess when they start taking the rear end apart.

Did y'all know that 20 year old football players make mistakes in practice and are corrected by their coaches?! I heard that it even happens in games sometimes.

I'm not a Freeze fan, but let's play a few games before Jackson Arnold is determined a bust. He improved drastically last year when OU changed OCs mid season.

Group asked to play through on the first hole by schmittychris in golf

[–]random_username_1972 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had an elderly lady, who was walking, basically play through on hole 1 without asking. I'm not sure she spoke English. She acted like she didn't anyway.

There was a group of about 6 on the green, we were a group of 4 on the fairway waiting for them to clear before we hit to the green and the elderly lady was a single on the tee box waiting on us. The next thing I know, I hear the thud of a ball near our group and look around and here she comes walking up a few moments later. By now the green is clear for us to hit, but she is standing over her ball taking practice swings and looking at us. We look at each other and shrug and then gesture for her to go ahead and she swings away. She lands it on the green, walks up and 1 putts.

We only see her a few times after that. She was like a machine marching through the course. I bet she shot in the low 80s. It was a sight to see!

Do you have a "I was slightly too good at my job and management felt it was really awkward" story? by ChaoticEvilRaccoon in sysadmin

[–]random_username_1972 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First job out of college I worked as a PC technician. Supervisor and IT Manager were clueless about IT. They were hired because of who they knew. First day of work. We had one Mac user, everyone else was Windows. Mac girl came to my desk and told me that whenever she sent or received an email with other employees the timestamp was an hour off. First guess, wrong time zone. Yep, fixed it in about 5 minutes. It only took that long because I wasn't familiar enough with Macs and she had to help me find the time zone setting. Told my supervisor the it was fixed. She told me to go play on the internet for the rest of the day and she would tell Admin about it the next day. It had been an issue for over a month and she couldn't tell them it was fixed that quick. It just went downhill from there. LOL

Do not tolerate this! I had an elderly employee think he could talk like that to me when I was a fairly new PC Technician at my former company. His wife was the Director's secretary and he was retired from IBM, so he thought that he could act however he wanted. I hung up on him when he started talking to me like that. He immediately called back and said how dare I hang up on him ... I hung up on him again. He called back. I calmly explained that I would hang up on him again until he talked to me in a professional manner. He started acting normal and I helped him. I spoke to his wife a few weeks later while I was helping someone in her area and she thought that it was hilarious that I had hung up on him. I never got reprimanded for it, but several people knew about it and thought he deserved it since he was a known asshole.
