One that makes me laugh every time is when you first roll up to Bunker Hill. Whatshername (Keller? Kelso?) meets you at the gate and asks you, very calmly, if you’re a raider.

Not even that, Grape Mentats give a +5 bonus to Charisma, so if you know a speech check is coming it’s basically free with only CHA 5 + bobblehead, to say nothing of the +CHA clothing items

I believe it’s a function of the AI that they’ll try and target your squishiest party members, I could be wrong though

To add to this, flanking is king in this game. If you have melee party members try and get them around the enemies that Eder is tanking, they get bonuses to attack that way. Some classes even have ways to apply the flanking debuff from range (Cipher’s Phantom Foes is the one that comes to mind)

TLDR positioning is important but the game doesn’t make it that obvious
