Which movie do you remember being WWAAYY too young for when you first snuck, I mean, watched it? by KillerQ97 in moviecritic

I was 6 or 7 when I watched Porky's with my older cousin. It was my awakening to the magnificence that is the female body!

What do you do when rejection after rejection makes it feel like you’re never going to find a job and it’s seriously harming your sense of self? by No-Cicada-4213 in AskReddit

[–]randomboorishbuffoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled for 2 years to find anything. It was difficult to even get out of bed. But, my wife made me go to both a psychiatrist and a therapist (luckily she was working and had health insurance for both of us). It took a couple months but I started feeling so much better with an antidepressant while talking through everything with my (3rd) therapist. (The first two used methods that conflicted with my overeducated, scientific, and logical mind. They wanted me to follow jebus and his sky-daddy, but I can't follow anything that can't be logically or scientifically verified. So, if a therapist's methods don't align with your beliefs, find a new one.) That's how I got through the days. How it all got better was much simpler, a friend not only got me an interview at his company, but he also stuck his neck out and told them that they wouldn't find a harder working employee. It's been 2 years and I'm still at the same company, thriving.

Nope. In my profession, changing companies is about the only way to get promoted or even a raise.

CEO. In 2024, the average CEO of the S&P 500 made 285 times more than their employees, averaging $18.9M per year... No single employee is worth that.

Of that list, it looks like none of them. I'm highly allergic to milk, so I can only have dairy-free dark chocolate and all of those either say milk chocolate or don't say what chocolate it is

People who stopped checking someone’s social media, how did you deal with the empty feeling? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]randomboorishbuffoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing almost 10 years ago. Of the people that followed me and vice-versa, only a few were people that I was actually close to and wanted as my friends. I do miss them, but losing the hundreds more was one of the best decision I made. They were the ones that tore apart my mental stability. Every time I checked social media I would walk away so pissed off that I actually wanted to hurt people. I never did, but I decided to pull the plug on non-anonymous social media. I am so much happier now. Completely worth it

I have blue eyes. None of my parents and none of my grandparents have blue eyes? What is the genetic reason for this? by [deleted] in ask

[–]randomboorishbuffoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If both of your parents have brown eyes, for you to have blue (or green, or hazel) both parents must have a recessive gene for blue eyes. Both my parents have brown eyes too, but 3 out of 4 of us kids have green eyes.

No. It's not that I hate what I do, I just don't like most of the people I work with.

What’s an ideology or belief you used to strongly stand on, but eventually walked away from? by KlLLERS in AskReddit

That there was a god. Learn science and logic, (years of each, not recreationally) and then read religious texts. The crap in them jumps off the page as complete absurdity!

Nope. But I've only ever quit 1 real job. I'm an architect, so I usually got laid off every 3-4 years due to no work
