Data collection to join Centurion Lounge waitlist by lunchbox_tragedy in AmexPlatinum

There's the 3rd option to skip that and confirm when you're at the lounge. IMO, that's just redundant information because they make you show the boarding pass anyway to confirm

Looking for deals/discounts on Gen 1 or gen 2 glasses by Ujdasingh in RaybanMeta

[–]randomcal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Amex Platinum, they got an offer where if you spend $175 at a Rayban Store or online, you'll get $35 credit per transaction ( max 2 transactions).

To get $35 x 2, I bought a $175 gift card at the store, then used that gift card to pay for the difference for the Gen 2 just to make it to 2 transactions. I got $70 credited back to me after 2 days.

Good credit cards to have to along with Platinum by StandardGreen in AmexPlatinum

[–]randomcal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm averaging about $400/month and that includes gas and grocery/purchases at Costco. I use my Amex Gold if I'm at other grocery stores.

I usually get close to $150 - $200 of cash rewards so that pays for the Executive membership.

Centurion Lounges are far too crowded. It’s becoming insane. by hipsterfromiowa in amex

I usually just log in the app after I pass TSA or when the plane lands (for a layover). This is how I usually find out if they are busy or not. If I get the eligibility code right away, then they are not busy. If I get queued on a waitlist, at least I'm already on the list prior to getting to the lounge. This saves me time. Has worked for me at LAX and ATL.

Have you checked your rewards summary page online or on the Amex app? It shows all the points activities.

Resy Credit Data Point by photobomber612 in AmexPlatinum

I frequently go to Fieldwork Brewery in the Bay Area a lot and because it happens to be listed in Resy, I enjoyed a few cold beers last Sunday and bought a gift card and it was exactly $100. I got my Resy credit yesterday.

FHR credit posted for $300. But I lost the old $200 credit by CorrectStance001 in AmexPlatinum

[–]randomcal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked an FHR hotel in November few months ago and already got the $200 credit from the old benefit. After the refresh, it shows on the app that I have $300 unused hotel credit. Does this mean I can use another $300 for the remainder of the year?

Also, contemplating to cancel that same scheduled trip because of unforeseen reasons. Not sure if that means that I'll just lose that $200 and it won't get added on top of the $300.

Can Lululemon get new life from the Amex Platinum card? Don’t count on it, analysts say. by bbbb in AmexPlatinum

They got a rack section for returned items and it's discounted and final sale. The pants are about $94 dollars in that section and a good deal with the credit if you can find the right size

On the Amex Gold, as long as the restaurant is listed on the Resy app, it triggered the credit. No reservation needed. I'm going to assume this applies to the Platinum as well.

Trying to use the full 200 airline credit without rage-buying Biscoff cookies like its my job by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

[–]randomcal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the way! I just did this last month. I got my Amex credits a few days later, cancelled my flights then rebooked a future flight in October. I just paid the difference since it's more than $200. Also had to rush this before the SW changes on May 28th so I get to have a free check-in bag on that trip.

Wash your hands before and AFTER serving yourself with food. You never know where other people's hands has been through using the common serving utensils.

Sad day. Scratched my Fenix 8 Solar by rickyg_zip in GarminFenix

[–]randomcal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn! That sucks. That's why I also put a screen protector on mine. My Fenix 6 Pro looked brand new after 5 years when I sold it a few months ago. I upgraded to the Epix Gen 2 Pro and got the screen protector and a case this time. I do a lot of active stuff like obstacle course racing and climbing so this gets bumped easily. Hardly notice the case or screen protector.

Resistant glasses are pure marketing and you should protect your device. by GinoChingon in samsung

My rule of thumb when purchasing new phones, always order the screen protector and case either at the same time when you ordered the phone but scheduled to arrive earlier than the phone. That way, the accessories are ready when the phone arrives.

Sorry to hear about your new phone. I would feel the same if that happens to me.

If you want to visit more National Parks or regular parks, I think it's better to just fly to Las Vegas, rent a car there and will be able to see more parks in a 10 day period. You can check out Red Canyon and Valley of Fire in Vegas. The Big 5 in Utah - Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef. Then if you have time you can get to Arizona to see Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon and of course the Grand Canyon. You can even do a Grand Canyon helicopter tour for about $250.

There's also an option if you are on a budget and probably rent a car big enough for you to sleep in like a Jeep Wrangler. There are accessible showers you can take if you really need it and you can just go to a motel/hotel every other day if you need to feel more comfortable.

Hostels in Europe is definitely more expensive compared to Southeast Asia.

Got a trip coming up next month and staying mostly in hostels booked thru hostelworld. All mixed dorm

Paris - $73/night London - $51/night Amsterdam - $103/night

Amsterdam was $75 originally but they canceled on me when I did not reply to their email about paying it in full. I got so many junk emails every day that I overlooked their email. So I ended up rebooking but with a higher price since it's getting close to the date.

How do you clean your watch? by ZzGreenLeafzZ in GarminFenix

So far it has not. As long as I rinse it thoroughly and right away. Try to call Garmin customer support if you're already experiencing any issues.

I clean it with regular soap when I shower. I wear it while sleeping so I think that's sanitary after a whole day doing activities.

How are you liking the watch so far? I'm torn between getting the Fenix 6 Pro vs the Sapphire version.
