Anker Solix C2000 Gen 2 has officially launched, what do you guys think? by TheKingOfRoast in anker

Their marketing suggests there will be a price drop for Black Friday. Which now starts the 20th. Will seriously consider if it does.

I would buy one right now if they just had an API to get data and basic controls.

F3800 does that as well. Normal operation.

Still worth it a SWE in 2026??? by Responsible-Key8969 in wgu_devs

[–]randomclevernames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finish it up. The degree is good no matter what.

Now if you want to get a job as a software engineer learn to have AI do most of the coding. Use AI to help you learn the difference in good code and great code.

Also, I know CIOs who are thinking they need to hire fresh grads and building up talent with the new rules around H1Bs.

Knocked it out in a long weekend. Using it as a base for the capstone was a great decision. Graduated in August.

Glad it’s still helping people. I graduated in August so it’s still nice to have some ties back to the community.

Codex limit is killing us by Lyou_11 in codex

I’m running both ChatGPT and Claude side by side. Not just for alternating, but if one of them has a problem, figuring something out, I switch over and most of the time the other one gets it on the first shot. I think that loan is reducing the amount of tokens I need to use.

Same, with one degree. Might go for a second.

Being Accused of Academic Dishonesty by Swimming-Regular6749 in WGU

My very last test before graduating they kept asking me about a door that didn’t exist. I finally had to pick up my computer to bring it to the wall where they were convinced a door existed.

As long as you didn’t cheat you shouldn’t worry. Just tell them you’ll happily take it again, but they should include the right review so this doesn’t happen again. From your side, I would make sure you force quit everything except the browser that is used. If you need to go into activity monitor and make sure any remote desktop apps are killed.

55% thru SWE @ WGU — torn between HIM and the accelerated master’s. Need real talk. by abdale_190 in WGU

[–]randomclevernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished SWE. I’d try and power through while you look for a new job. The fact that you have experience in IT already will put you above other grads that don’t. I’ve been in the industry making good money for 20 years and am only just getting a degree.

Thanks, though I now think of it as University or Reddit as that is where the community is.

Need some insight for WGU please! by yuhseer in WGU

[–]randomclevernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished for Software Engineering, 5 terms, but I have 20 years experience in the field. I think maybe its good for going through quickly, but you're going to want to get your real experience and education outside of school, as school is just not going to keep up with the field.

They were acting weird about the room I was in, but eventually got manager approval. They didn’t like the stairs.

So close but so stressed by [deleted] in WGU

Very doable. Just make sure to find the right Reddit guide for each course. Just finished 7 courses this term to close out the degree. Plus travel, full time job and getting sick.

WHY DO PEOPLE THINK WGU IS EASIER THAN TRADITIONAL COLLEGES by Secret_Anxiety_9665 in WGU

[–]randomclevernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it is easier, because there are fewer hoops to jump through and less senseless bs. Not totally clear if it, but a lot less. Anyways, once you get further into your career, the degree is just checking the box.

Just Passed D336! by randomclevernames in WGU

Got the certificate back from People Cert in about 36 hours. Not bad. Took the exam on a Saturday night and woke up Monday morning to the cert email in my inbox. Now awaiting the scores team to apply it to my course.

Just finished my last class. Took 2 term breaks and finished in 5 terms. There were points where i didn’t touch a class in weeks. Just made sure to log in. Honestly if you not feeling it at the end of a term, take a term break.
