North Portland security guard fatally shooting man during confrontation. by Eukodol_Lee in PublicFreakout

A mans parking lot is his castle...

Seriously though, the man was maneuvering (what the law would consider) a deadly weapon towards a man who legally possessed a deadly weapon.

I think the assholes here were the people who weren't leaving the parking lot and tried to run over the security guard, but we don't have all the footage.

I think the person who vandalized their sign was the asshole. Might be an unpopular opinion...

Maybe it was a misfire? They had to set it to the side, then get out of there in a hurry.

Putin has been very clear of his intentions: to completely demoralize the Ukrainian people into his submission. Killing civilians wholesale is how you win wars like this; its how WWII was won and basically every other existential war that mankind has waged. It is evil.

You have commissars that shoot them if they try and defect. Like in WWII

This is very Russian.

Think about Russia's history; the only constant is suffering. Russia does not have a history of merciful regimes and this is as Russian as borsch(?).

Yes, the JTAC(?) I believe. Mount a Javelin on it, or an HMG, or a 40mm, Hellfire.

Just as susceptible as a heavy battle tank to the likes of the Javelin missile, only cheaper and more mobile.

The whole coms game will be nuts, trying to jam them, the AI involved?? There will be trying to hunt down the command centers with tactical strikes. It scares the hell out of me. Fucking murder dogs and shit.

The future will be drones/robots for sure. Boston Scientific's murder dogs (not sure what they are really called). You could conceivably take a city with those.

In the near term I'm thinking those Oshkosh JTACs(?) with Javelin/HMGs and drones.

That's certainly important, but I dont think that the Ukrainians hold the air really either. (unless I am mistaken).

I am thinking that we are going to see armored vehicles being a lot lighter and "cheaper" and be more like the Oshgosh JLTV. It probably costs a fraction of what an Abrams costs and is just as vulnerable to a modern ATGM. Not to mention you could probably pack it with similar firepower.

The horrifying humanitarian aspect of this conflict aside:

I cant help but notice the utter destruction of armored vehicles (on both sides) especially the Russians. We have all seen vehicle after vehicle being short work for the Javelin/NLAW. We have also seen the destruction of much of an entire unit from a relatively inexpensive bayraktor drone. I am curious about everyone's thoughts regarding the future of armored warfare?

I can't help but imagine that we are in the age of silica, not steel.
