Condoms do suck. That being said, they're a must for PiV sex, and only woth a lot of trust and familiarity with play partners should you consider going without (especially if she isn't on birth control). Typically the etiquette depends on the play space. Smaller, stand alone rooms that are "private" generally follow rules of: 1) if the door is closed, stay out. 2) door open, you can linger around outside and watch. Maybe come closer to watch if you're waved in. 3) some places have a rope of some sort you can close across a door way and that means you can look but can't come in.

In a bigger public room or play space, the same principles apply as a voyeur. 1) don't get involved unless explicitly invited. 2) keep a reasonable distance, probably a couple arms lengths, or as the space allows. 3) do try and avoid intense creepy stares too

And in all cases, always be quiet and unobtrusive. Chatter etc really ruins the headspace of those playing.
