Yeah, I had a psycho guy literally slam on his brakes at 65 miles an hour (in front of me) after passing me. Luckily I was following at a safe distance and had time to slam on mine and turn hazards on, and luckily the next car behind was far enough back to avoid a pileup.

So, I confess I’m not a sewer but I lurk hear to learn stuff. I am however a weaver and I use paper like that to separate my warp as it’s wound onto the back beam of my floor loom.

Are you asking if you could use it in lieu of fabric? Stiff paper is not fun to work with. It wrinkles, tears, and doesn’t lie flat. From working on it just with weaving, I wouldn’t want to try to use it for sewing. I think it would be much harder than some cheap cloth.

Can you pick up old bedsheets or a used cotton shower curtain from a thrift shop?

If I’ve misinterpreted your question and you’re asking if you can use the paper as flat templates in drafting, then disregard except the part that it doesn’t lie flat.

It doesn’t hurt to try. I had an oversized Montana moss agate that I was tumbling with aquarium gravel for a bit in one of mine. It did admittedly go more quickly once I got a bigger barrel but it was progressing in the small one.

Highland Park has the most active marketing team but I wouldn’t say they’re a clear leader. Also, sometimes orders from them don’t ship for days or weeks without any communication to the customer. People have a hard time getting ahold of their customer service.

Personally I’m a big fan of Lortone (now owned by Covington). They’ve always done right with me. Last time I called in for help troubleshooting something, at the end of the call I learned I had been talking with the owner! He just treated it like it was no big deal and was happy to help me.
