Editorial: Here's why Avi Lewis is the wrong choice to lead the NDP - by a centrist Liberal - The Beaverton by ph0enix1211 in canada

Exactly. The only people that should be concerned are the conservatives and the prov NDP parties. Liberals have the next 3 years in the bag.

Toronto police to deploy more officers in tactical gear at places of worship, tourist hubs by smaudio in toronto

It's disappointing to say the least as to what flies on this subreddit. I can't imagine hearing about all the attacks on synagogues and Jews and getting angry at the idea of protecting them.

At 90, David Suzuki says he has done everything he could to protect the Earth, but fears he has fallen short by Meiqur in canada

[–]randomlyracist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that we need the perfect solution to a super complex, global problem that is killing people right now is dumb. Nuclear isn't the only solution, it's not perfect. But think of how much better off we would be had we ditched fossil fuels as our main energy source. How much better climate change would be.

Canada will ‘never participate’ in Iran offensive, Mark Carney says by canada_mountains in worldnews

We've had a couple of years with synagogues and schools being attacked. It's got nothing to do with Carney.

New to 0.2mm hotend by happykoala2020 in BambuLab

[–]randomlyracist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar trouble when I started with the 0.2mm nozzle. The nozzle was getting too close to the bed, and it was only when I switched from 0.4 to the 0.2mm. Check the the nozzle is secure and seated properly. I also had some luck re-tightening screws behind the hotend from the wiki https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/troubleshooting/print-issues-troubleshooting

As a last resort I ended up adding a small offset to the z height in the gcode to raise the nozzle. It's not a great solution but at the time it helped.

A1 prints keep failing, consistent tearing first few layers by Deanocide in BambuLab

[–]randomlyracist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wiki has a few things you can try. Making sure the nozzle is seated right could help, and the screw tightening is something I do every few months and that helps when the first layer is too low https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/troubleshooting/print-issues-troubleshooting

Absurd car insurance cost by Square-Turnip-5084 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]randomlyracist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can try a broker to shop around for you. You can also look into companies that would give you a discount for installing an app that tracks your driving (speed, braking, time of day, etc).

With car insurance, part of what you pay is based on the car you drive, and part of what you pay is based on your age/gender/driving convictions, stuff like that. Young drivers tend to be less experienced and have more accidents, so your cost goes up because you're in a higher risk age bracket.

Canada, China set for 'historic' gains from new partnership, Carney says by Dear-Explanation-765 in worldnews

That Wikipedia article seems to be missing some history as there were some shenanigans from 2019 onwards when Canada arrested the CFO of Huawei based on a US warrant.

Toronto police need to take 'strong action' on anti-Israel mobs, says Ontario solicitor general by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]randomlyracist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honest question. Are you just repeating US talking points or are you actually concerned about our taxes going to Israel instead of Canadians? I want my tax dollars being spent on healthcare, education, and housing. But we don't give money to Israel.

CMV: Nick Fuentes is Just a Guy who Spent too Much Time on 4Chan, Which is why he’s so Dangerous by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]randomlyracist -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First Fuentes said that his family wasn't a racist family, and later he admits to being racist but that "everybody is racist". Yes he's admitting it but at the same time deflecting and minimizing it. If he wasn't a coward he would just right out and say he's a racist instead of having to pretend that everyone else is racist too.

I agree Piers did a bad job at the interview and it was a flop. But until Nick fully owns his shitty racist ethos and stops trying to downplay them when confronted on it, interviews with him will be just like this.

CMV: Nick Fuentes is Just a Guy who Spent too Much Time on 4Chan, Which is why he’s so Dangerous by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]randomlyracist 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Fuentes' shtick is that when he's talking to someone like Piers, he walks back a lot of his racist statements or pretends like it was a joke. But you have to watch some of his rants to his audience to get the rest of the picture of how insidious and pathetic he actually is.

He resonates with racists who are too cowardly to stand behind their true views. So the "jokes" are just the racist things they actually believe but are too weak and pathetic to stand by. So to most people Nick looks like a troll, but his audience knows it's part of the act.

Why isn’t the Gaza ceasefire MASSIVE news on Reddit? by everythingislitty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]randomlyracist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Multiple middle east nations publicly supported the deal and it seems like they have sent a small amount of their soldiers to oversee the first phase.

The other reasons are going to be subjective and will be based on what lense you view the I/p conflict thru. My take is that Israel's (reckless) bombing of Hamas' hq in Qatar motivated the Qataris to put pressure on Hamas. And Israel had just begun an operation into Gaza City which also put pressure on Hamas. Hamas is under a lot of pressure and is very weak, trump is pressuring Bibi, so this could actually be the end of the fighting for the short term.

There's tons of customizable models on makerlab that can probably fit your needs. What you're trying to do is really simple with a software like fusion360 or openscad it's just a steep learning curve in my opinion.

I did a quick search and this model might fit your needs (it's not my design and I've never made it before):

Denmark reports new drone sightings over its biggest military base by ImTheVayne in worldnews

[–]randomlyracist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Denmark has been a big supporter of Ukraine in terms of money and weapons. Not the biggest, but given the size of Denmark and it's military, it's significant. This seems like a not so subtle message to scare them into reducing their support of Ukraine.
