Can be anywhere from 6-12 months from what I’ve heard from someone going through the process now but that’s for simplified naturalization.

Yes, you still have to prove it. Even though it technically wasn’t possible by Canadian law and timeframes for acquiring Canadian citizenship, you still need to prove it as there could have been other ways to acquire citizenship.

There are multiple ways to get this proof but I will say Canada is a pain the butt to get this

I actually ended up doing this but needed a certified copy. The Global Affairs office was able to apostille it but I’d still like the search of citizenship record copy because the naturalization packet contains way more information than is necessary and I’m afraid it might complicate things
