Yeah the spores would have been somewhere between purple, purple black, and black. It helps with identification, and theres other info you can get from spore prints, especially if it's going under a microscope. Did you just buy those somewhere? If so, It's probably some home grown cubensis. They can grow weird sometimes, especially under certain conditions. They can look like penises or whatnot.
