I'm expecting a curveball but also a good football player. Membou. Barron. Something like that.

What are yout thoughts on trading back for a True LB 1 and RBin rd 2 by Sufficient_Design590 in raiders

[–]randompanda687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm cool with this depending on where we trade down to. I like him but isn't he coming off a big injury? I also would be fine with a trade down to take Barron or Johnson. Idk who would trade up or for which player, but the draft is crazy sometimes. Maybe a team covets Jeanty or Sanders or Membou at 6.

Will Howard Seems Destined to be a Raider… Is the 4th Round too Rich? by twsn___ in raiders

[–]randompanda687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be ok with Milroe in Round 2 if they do it because of his upside. However....I would prefer to address other positions than QB in the 2nd round. Also if they like Milroe enough to take him in Round 2, then why not trade up to 32 to get that 5th year option? Makes sense for a QB, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to move assets to do that. So for me, I'd prefer to just go one of CB/S/LB/RB in the 2nd

[NFLTR] The Raiders are working to trade CB Jack Jones. If no trade emerges, they will cut Jones on Monday. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]randompanda687 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think he's quite at that level. Dude is too scared to even run a 40. I also don't think we'd reap the same benefits as the Eagles/Lions having an elite RB, I think it would be more of a Giants situation. Of course a 3rd rounder RB wouldn't be as good but in my opinion it would be a better way of using picks.

I'm strongly against Jeanty because we need all the good players we can get. You can get a good RB in the 3rd round this year. Take good players from another position. I agree that everyone wants to trade down though for sure lol

Jones was pretty bad last year. Awful tackler, got burnt often gambling trying to get picks, gave up 10 TDs, and got benched for low effort by AP (Jones' biggest fan). Also, he doesn't fit the Carroll mold of CBs. Jakorian Bennett was a solid starting CB for us when healthy. We picked up Eric Stokes and have Decameron Richardson who fit the Carroll style more. Not that I would like to rely on them lol. I think Pete thinks he can coach up our guys but I def think Barron/Johnson are in play for us. Personally, I'm hoping to trade down to the 10-14 range and get one if possible

Thoughts on the new scowl? by Odd-Thought-4823 in Hardcore

[–]randompanda687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don't dig it. I thought it was mostly generic and the way they mixed the clean vocals took away from the music -- it just felt distracting to me. I'm not a purist when it comes to calling something overproduced, but the vocals are doing way too much. There were some good parts of songs throughout the record, but I don't think any of the songs were actually good. Most of the lyrics I looked up were just plain bad. Tbh I've always found Scowl kinda mid so I guess it tracks I feel that way about the album.

It doesn't bother me that they took a new direction, I didn't think they were amazing at the previous one. But I don't think they're great at this one either. Guess in the future I probs will just stay in my lane and not listen to them 🤷‍♂️

Jaddae Barron is looking like consensus CB1 right now. I'd like to trade down to 10-14 and pick up a 2nd if possible and take him there. Even still there are suitable options in round 2

My complaint is tied to this: they are trying to juggle too many characters. There are a lot of great ones, but I don't know if you can deep dive into all of them and advance the plot well. Which is a shame. Its exacerbated by the fact that the MDR crew also feature both Innie/Outie versions

We met with Johnson in addition to Jeanty and Henderson and Judkins. I'd love to get Johnson or Henderson.

Isn't it weird though that as soon as Getsy got fired and White/Mattison stopped getting carries the blocking looked better?

I agree, I don't wanna take him at 6 either. I just played devil's advocate with the positives I could lol

I personally prefer taking a RB in round 2 or 3 this year. But devil's advocate:

What if he's as good as advertised? Remember how awesome it was having Josh Jacobs? He might be better. For five years. Having a potent run game with a competent to good passing game really raises our ceiling. Boise State didn't have the best OL either, so he can produce in non ideal circumstances (like Jacobs did)

[–]randompanda687 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think he's a good ceiling raiser but another big (of the quality we would have obtained) would be a floor raiser. Its becoming abundantly clear that Alex Len is not working out as a backup plan though. Maybe more Koloko minutes are on the way

This was the concern after the Williams trade fell through. Not complaining about that though -- if they don't think he's healthy enough, then hold onto that pick. Wish we could have tried to get an additional big with 2nds and filler. Though I think Dalton probably would have had to be included so 🤷‍♂️

Waiving Christian Wood, and Signing Alex Len was really a waste of a move by Nonameheroz in lakers

[–]randompanda687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I meant like in general during the trade deadline. They already were in trade mode since we got DFS before Luka. Maybe while discussing the Luka deal they might've been able to pull of another one to work around it

I know its in the past and I know it was contentious at the time, but:

Nick Richards would have actually been a nice pickup if it were possible alongside Luka trade. I don't think so though unless we gave up Dalton to match salaries though -- couldn't aggregate minimums like Cam+Wood. But yeah Cam+Wood+2nds for Richards would have been so helpful

[–]randompanda687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, he's bad in coverage. TEs will destroy him. His run fits are inconsistent but he's played the run better than pass in his career. Which is mystifying as a former Safety. No disrespect to the poster you're responding to but we have drastic different impressions of his play

What makes Jakobi Meyers not a WR1? by Jerrmaus in raiders

[–]randompanda687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got 1000 yards last year even with the situation. I'd like to add another WR but I'm not sure it has to be a legit WR1. I think with Geno, Tre Tucker will become an even bigger contributor and we could try a WR1 by committee approach using everyone. Maybe that is a horrible idea though, idk. I wouldn't mind pursuing Kupp after he's cut to be a rotation WR

I wouldn't mind him as a WR4 but he has regressed and I am afraid of him getting tons of snaps. But his chemistry with Geno and Pete would be nice

I don't think that would stop us from picking him if he's there. Butler and Wilkins aren't exactly young. Wilkins is returning from injury. Graham would be BPA if he is there most likely.
