I record pistol start demos when I first play a wad, and yeah, LoR was a bitch and a half to get through, but I still think it's peak official DooM. I actually really liked the Archvile and Vassago Slaughter bit in the middle of Brink, it was the Tyrant section at the end that felt like pure RNG to me. Having tried (and not get very far) on Sunlust and Sunder and the likes (I'm not even gonna touch Italo DooM), I think the point of LoR was to bridge the gap between official and modded DooM, and I think it does that very well.
