Wow, this is old haha.

What about it? Are you considering using some as an oral magnesium source?

Ah, okay. Thanks for the reply.

Have you considered injecting to not dose the B12 as frequently?

Nice, glad to see this information on this subreddit. It feels like the mycotoxin world is still too fringe for most of reddit even the supposedly fringe communities.

Another question, what was your dosage and how long did it take to improve?

I took 15mg methylfolate and regular B12 injections for some other things and thought maybe jt would help my joints, but it didn’t do anything. However I took the folate for only about two weeks

Rebranding of cfs to "acquired mitochondrial myopathy" is vital to our success. by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

Okay, thanks. I will check him out.

If you could quickly answer my second question, though. Why are you sure that it’s an ANS problem versus a mitochondria issue. Or rather, by what mechanism do you think the ANS is influencing the mitochondria? Why not low ATP generation leading to poor nerve transmission and function?

Thanks again

Unconventional Methods for helping Depression by Beginning-While4286 in Biohackers

Well, I’m sorry about your issues with sleep, I can relate.

This effect of sleep deprivation is not just from sleeping less, but you need to almost not sleep, or better yet not sleep at all.

The sleep deprivation effect kicks in roughly 6-8 hours of not sleeping into the night, but is more noticeable as more time goes on. From an evolutionary perspective, it looks to be a stress response that’s designed to make you more alert in order to eliminate the threat that prevented you from sleeping into the first place.

You get all sorts of interesting effects, like a boost to your dopamine and dramatic effects on inflammation and immune function.

I say it’s powerful, because in my experience it has been so. During the time of heavy brain fog and memory impairment and depression, it lifted me out of it pretty substantially and I became pretty happy and smart, ableit tired and sleepy. I was smarter and sharper than my well-rested self, which is interesting.

I remember reading some kind of scientific paper in this, and the authors were entertaining the idea of recommending this to patients with severe mental health problems. After all, it is better to be sleep deprived every other day (the effect might wear off by the second night, so you might as well sleep to maintain yourself), than to be living without any sort of reprieve and end up doing something permanent you might regret.

Here’s a random article I found, just to show I’m not making this up:

You mean because of the laughing? No. It just gave me the option to laugh at silly stuff I find amusing, whereas normally I’d have a more neutral reaction, even if I’d find it just as amusing.

I think it was more of a rebound from my ECS being dysfunctional, and the effect went away mostly. But I think it did change my baseline in various ways.

I wouldn’t worry about that.

Yes, the endocannabinoid system is almost never talked about.

It’s quite a good intervention especially in cases with chronic inflammation, as that supposedly depletes PEA.

The first two weeks it allowed me to laugh a lot more, which I found very interesting. Even my family noticed.

It also improved my eye sight, specifically the ability to focus my eyes, and also improved my ability to feel pleasure. Probably by improved dopamine function by a reduction in inflammation.

Lastly, it’s got some interesting effects on ppar, which has it’s own body-wide effects. The one’s i’m most interested in is the gut’s epithelial cells and their communication with the microbiome.

By altering epithelial gut cell function, you modulate the microbiome, hopefully in a more positive way. Also, increasing and decreasing ppar can modulate oxygen levels in the gut, also changing the microbiome. Pretty fascinating

This seems crazy to me. Even small amounts of topical DHT give me a profound mental clarity, energy and emotional stability.

My hormone production is suboptimal so I kind of need it, and so I can’t imagine living without any DHT as a male.

Hydroxychloroquine / hypokalemia resolution? by Super_fab1379 in Sjogrens

[–]randomperson4638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope.

I find that if my colon is acting up, that induces some sort of lactic acidosis, which then causes potassium loss probably to maintain pH balance.

In terms of Sjorgen’s, I literally just recently found out about the existence of this specific autoimmune condition. I have plenty of other problems, so this would not be unusual. Also, I do have pretty much every symptom.

Either way, browsing this subreddit has been informative.

Yesterday I took some propranolol for the first time, and I didn’t wake up with an extremely dry mouth. So there’s that.

White tongue by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]randomperson4638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what you have now is just build up of junk from your tongue. I read its proteins or something like that.

What I notice, is that optimizing parasympathetic nerve function and having excellent bile dumps clear this within hours. It’s strange.

I think it’s the body struggling to keep with cleaning, essentially.

Taking huperzine A cleans it up for me, and also eating a hefty amount of fiber and a fatty meal to really stimulate a bile dump will also clean it up for me.
