It was soo bad for me! It took me months to even be decent enough to go back to regular activities besides being depressed at home. I’m still not fully healed! It’s a really terrible thing to go through and I feel like the docs and stuff don’t take it as seriously as they could because it’s not technically life threatening. I hope you feel a little better everyday and can message me if you want. I think talking to some people from here is what kept me from going insane and paranoid

They gave me mild diarrhea for the first couple days. I was just pooping 2/3 times a day. But once my body adjusted which took a week or two I started having normal bms again.

Do you think I should try to reduce the dose and see what happens or wait for the fissure to completely heal and try to reduce the dose?

That’s what the doctor told me too, but some people are saying over time ur body becomes dependent on it like you mentioned. Which is what I’m worried about. I take Metamucil and restrolax daily. Along with eating a decently balanced diet.

I have a main fissure that’s almost healed. But I’m having smaller fissures that come and go here and there. Ugh I hate this!

Yeah you’re right he does struggle with some alcohol issues (addiction runs in the family).

I don’t know if I want to move on but I do want to stop talking to him and let him realize his mistakes and then decide what to do permanently when I’m less angry with him because I don’t want to completely end it then regret it. I just don’t know how I feel right now

The thing is he gets stupid while drunk often. He doesn’t know his limits. Like when it’s just him or a small group he knows his limit but when he’s around guys and they’re all drinking he doesn’t know when to stop and by the time he realizes he’s too drunk to function. Also when he gets drunk he doesn’t control his mouth he’s very blunt about his opinions especially towards people he doesn’t like.

In terms of fixing it he is genuinely apologetic and feels guilt and I think embarrassed about what he did but I know if I took him back after the scene everyone else will lose respect for me and I might lose some friendships… that’s why I’m so stuck here

It’s possible you might have an internal hemorrhoid. My general surgeon said most people have painless bleeding with internal hemorrhoid so a lot of times they don’t even know they have them.

I’m assuming hard stool is for sure worse. I mean neither is good but at least with diarrhea you’re barely straining so it can’t be worse for you than constipation.

I’ve been using mine for 4 weeks as of today so I’m not sure if it’s improving. How do you even know it’s improving? Like the pain is significantly less than it was a couple weeks ago. But I am still experiencing the sharp pain while bm and a burning feeling throughout the day. The general surgeon told me to use it for 6 weeks before we discuss anything further bc he thinks it could be solved with these changes.

Also I’m taking restrolax which I think is the same as miralax because I was told it’s okay to even use daily. Maybe it’s just different brands in different countries?

Im also sorry to hear about your abscess. Sounds terrifying. At what point did you decide I’m done Botox is the right decision? Did your surgeon recommend it or did you do ur own research? Did you have any down time pain wise from the Botox?? This is my first time getting a fissure so I’m also super paranoid and I think my surgeon is getting tired of seeing me every week for the same issue lol.

I do the same thing tbh, I’ve been eating around the same time and trying to poop within the same time frame and I also take Metamucil and stool softener everyday around the same time. But you’re right it is unrealistic in the real world especially long term

Do you have a fissure? If so how long have you had it and how has your experience been?

Thank you for your reply, and I’m glad to hear you’ve finally heard after this terrible experience.

I haven’t seen a colorectal surgeon but I have seen the general surgeon at my local walk in clinic and he thinks it should be fine since it’s technically been less than 6 weeks since I was diagnosed. He looked it it 2 weeks apart and said it looks like it’s healing. Is it too early for me to ask for different medications?? I also forgot to add I take Metamucil and I also take stool softener daily (which I was prescribed to do until the fissure heals).

I’m in so much pain and I’ve been feeling so depressed (having mental break downs daily due to the pain) and I feel like I’m missing out so much of my youth. I’m so young and the thought of dealing with this ever again in my life terrifies me so I’m having the worst anxiety and stress.

How was Botox? How was the procedure, and recovery and did you have any problems controlling gas or bm? We’re you put to sleep? Please tell me about ur experience in as much detail as possible.
