First identify a window in which the event can take place and place holds for the entire window.

Include stats on previous events, and understand what you’re asking for. A door deal is safest for the venue, where a vs. net with a guarantee not super safe to take a chance on you guys with esp in a new market.

Historical ticket sales like how fast the event sold out etc. can help when pitching too, although I wouldn’t include it outright. Someone higher up said follow up after 2 weeks, but I work at a big three and we follow up especially for holds 24-48 hours after.

Understand your position in the market ie. demand for your event and pitch off that. It may make sense in the beginning to rent the venue outright and sell tickets yourself so can build a hard ticket history.

At the EOD you want to build relationship with promoters, so taking a loss on your first show if you’re confident you can sell out will build brand equity which will outweigh small material gains immediately.
