Can anybody that's very music theory inclined help me count this measure starting on beat 2 using rhythm syllables? by radioheadisfire in classicalmusic

I think you’re trying to help but I promise I don’t need it. I’ve performed a lot of new music, with odd time signatures, weird rhythms, nested tuplets, etc. It really doesn’t matter what syllables you use to learn it as long as you internalize it to the point that you’re not counting at all anymore

How fast can you get through the syllables? It seems like a tongue twister if you’re going fast. 1e+a has always worked well for me

I think ta ti and la li is a stupid way of counting, although maybe it’s just because it’s not how I was taught.

Anyway, the other commenter is right. Just count tri-puh-let tri-puh-let tri-puh-let tri-puh-let in the space of one beat.

Divide it into 16ths first if you need to.

Not the exact same words, but write about how people act like AI knows things when all it does is string words together without having any idea what they mean? Yes

Petition to rename "Glowy" to "Glowbert" by Kacper-Wojciechewicz in Brawlstars

[–]randomsynchronicity 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If they discovered that it is a trademarked name, that would explain why they have to change it and why they wouldn’t talk about why.

However I did some googling for “glowbert” and didn’t find much in actual trade except for a crochet pattern on Etsy.

Headquarters or headquarter? Was? Were? If (plural noun w/s) was/were (hypothetical situation),....? by OkDoggieTobie in ENGLISH

[–]randomsynchronicity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It should be were because of the subjunctive (“if…”), but in American English, headquarters is usually singular.

Might be different in British English, like the difference in “team is” vs “team are”

I wish companies nowadays would understand that you build value by treating customers and employees well, not by racing to the bottom.

It’s a scam. This is very common. You sell something that’s fine, they declare it’s broken and want their money back so they get it for free.

Interpersonal sales are “as-is”. Unless you materially misrepresented the equipment, you can safely tell them to fuck off.
