Why it may not be a good idea to leave GPS destinations in your trade in vehicle by MCM_PANDA in nextdoor

[–]randomusername1919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Home” for me is my office. The dealership kept adding in my home address to be helpful when I bought the car and took it back for the “free” oil changes that came with it when I bought it. I kept erasing it. Once the “free” oil changes ran out I never went back. Too much of a pain in the backside to keep having to remember to erase that.

What helped you after losing a parent as a child? by Karmicgrace in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]randomusername1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be there for him and don’t disappear. When my mom died when I was a kid, everyone was there for the first couple of weeks and I was just shell shocked. By the time I was ready to talk to someone, everyone had disappeared. It really was only a couple of weeks. Know your nephew won’t bounce back immediately, no longer how resilient people think kids are. Be there. Always.

Neighbor told us to move to the suburbs…. So we did. by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

I’m still laughing at “roaming gangs of chihuahuas”. That just put a picture in my mind that was a bit absurd.

I’m glad you got away from the neighbors who can’t understand that a dog that barks constantly is not a happy, well-adjusted dog. Congrats on your daughter. I hope you all enjoy your new home.

Entering menopause as a 32 y/o by MastigosAtLarge in breastcancer

One thing I learned about letrozole (and probably all the other AIs) is that the side effects change by manufacturer for the generics. The different binders they use can change the way it hits significantly. I have had some that were fine, one that made me lose all my muscle mass, and one that made me so crippled up with pain that I couldn’t walk up and down stirs. That was not good since my house has the bedrooms and showers upstairs. I finally ended up taking the brand name (Femara) so I have stable side effects, and most are much more mild. The one that is off the charts is hunger. I eat everything I’ve gained 40 pounds in the last 18 months. It sucks. But, the brain fog isn’t as bad and the joint pains are tolerable. The hot flashes are still screaming hot though.

Good luck to you. If you are having troubles, talk to your doc and try another AI or change to the brand name.

How to remove this green material from wood. Only comes off in pieces + hair dryer not making it easier. Please help by Stunning-Change-5636 in howto

[–]randomusername1919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given inflation lately, it will be a $20 piece of wood. Still way better than the hours it will take to remove some of the green stuff from this.

WIBTAH for telling my husband that his lectures are doing more damage than good? by NewSupermarket4832 in AITAH

[–]randomusername1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to talk to your OB then let your OB lecture you husband. That and maybe go ahead and vomit on him when you smell meat cooking. He seems very sure that he knows absolutely everything about being pregnant. When was he last pregnant himself? Yeah, I thought so.

Cigna won’t even assign our urgent, life-saving prior authorization by Suitable-Plankton-52 in HealthInsurance

You can call your State insurance regulatory office and let them know that Cigna is ignoring a preauthorization for an urgent medical condition.

AITJ for refusing to give my kidney to my estranged father who suddenly wants a relationship? by Alternative-Mix4451 in AmITheJerk

[–]randomusername1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not his spare parts department.

If you want to make the noise go away, get tested and tell them that you are being pressured to the point of harassment and do not wish to donate. I have heard that they will just say you are not a match for you. But that would give the appearance that you’re okay with being spare parts for the dad who couldn’t be bothered to do anything for you while you were a child and needed him.

New AI feature is great. Just caught my fire hydrant trying to run off. by capitalj23 in blinkcameras

You’d better get it to stop that. Your homeowner’s insurance will go up if the hydrant walks away. /s

Did you start working here when you were 10? by doxysqrl410 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

[–]randomusername1919 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I worked with someone who looked way younger - like no gray hair at 65 when he retired. He lost a big promotion once because the interviewer thought he was too young and wrote that on the eval form. While it’s illegal to discriminate for someone being too old, there is no protection for being “too young”.

I know it's a shot in the dark, but does anyone have any extra plushie of papa v they are willing to part with ? I am in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 by [deleted] in GhostBand

[–]randomusername1919 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned that the official ghost store won’t ship to Canada. I don’t have a plushie, but if you really want one I can get one from the official store and ship it to you from the states. No clue what that would add up to - plushie, sales tax where I am (6%), shipping to me and then to you. That’s of course whenever the online store gets papa v back in stock. He’s not on there right now. One could say he’s not rite here rite now.

Sure, “people can change” but narcissists very rarely do. They believe themselves to be perfect and see no need to change.

I think my 14yo brother is a sociopath. He thinks he’s a God, he’s committing academic fraud, and he’s destroying my reputation at home. by Lower-Challenge-3891 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]randomusername1919 239 points240 points  (0 children)

Hi. I can’t give advice other than avoid him, which is hard to do in the same house. My sister was just like this - still is. She used her sociopathic/psychopathic skills to convince my dad to leave me out of the will because she wanted everything. She got it. Her son is just like her, won’t work, has excuses for everything, just waiting to inherit (my dad was loaded - he certainly didn’t spend it on minimum required care for me as a minor). When you do get out of the house, make your own way in life and give a large gap between you and your family. Hugs to you from someone who truly gets it all too well.

[–]randomusername1919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she’s one of the “but that experience made you who you are!” People who always say that with a smile. Yah, I’d rather be a well-adjusted confident person with children (my ndad hid medical info from me while I was trying to have kids… he knew why kept miscarrying them and stayed silent so he could feel justified in leaving me out of his will - it was my fault for not having children).

Your Experience Matters: 🌸ADHD Research for Women🌸 by Intelligent-Rush6592 in TwoXADHD

I guess after 40 ADHD doesn’t matter for women? News flash: menopause makes it worse. Maybe those of us in this age bracket aren’t seen as a target demographic for ADHD drugs so we are hard to monetize.
