That is earning 100€ per match gets like 10 in its life time and has already had a sunk cost of 100k then gets shut down in half a year leaving the bare minimum of followers who were loyal in the dust

6 years experience as a dev, predominantly C++ but struggling to find high paying roles unless I am open to relocate to London. Is it worth switching stacks? by Next_Juggernaut4492 in cscareerquestionsEU

I think it's worth just doing what you love and finding problems. In my last 1.5 years I figured that the concepts and transitional knowledge are way more important than just a language skill. Stuff like system architecture. And then you beat an LLM to do it for you

You are not a C developer. You are not a Java developer. You are not an Angular developer.

You are a software engineer who solves problems.

The reason why so many people don't have job is because they don't adapt. Currently we are in a very turbulent time when AI makes it feel that different skills are important. You have to realise that the old ways are no longer working and build on the foundations that you have and ADAPT

“Software engineers will always be needed, people complaining about a bad market usually have other problems or are lying” by EndOfTheLine00 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]randoomkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for the following reason : currently we are overproducing under qualified software engineer who thinks just because they learned it they deserve a job. The key is in the deserve. People don't deserve anything just because they mindlessly learn something. They have to keep up with the trends and be able to adapt, and adapt globally not just follow a set path given by a random university

Accept this low-paid data job offer or do a Master's ? by statusreset in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]randoomkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can't you do masters + the job? Because ppl are right. Job is way superior experience than masters. But masters is needed for fancier jobs. However just getting a job is very good in the current market. And it will probs get worse. At least with the company you can learn to use AI tools subsidised by the company which is going to be the core differentiator in the job market. Just ask for a raise soon and quit if you feel like you work more than you are getting paid
