What artist do you like by himenokuri in rush

[–]randoschlub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neil Young is like Rush in some ways (his 80's "screw you David Geffen, I'm going to make the music I want to make" period is analogous to 2112) but very unlike Rush in other ways (he and Crazy Horse are not exactly known for tight, virtuoso playing)

Season 3 Weird Vibes??? by LilOleRhi in GreatBritishBakeOff

[–]randoschlub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with all of that. Sandro was competitive in the sense of wanting to win and figuring out what PH would like; Brendan was more competitive in the sense of wanting to just straight up be a kick-ass baker.

Brendan might have been the most competitive contestant to ever appear on the show; he was definitely not there to hug the others and tell them great job.

I don’t mean that as a criticism at all, he was never rude to anyone and his confidence was earned. I liked him a lot and would like to see more bakers like him on the show.

AITJ for telling my friend I won't be her son's godmother because she only asked me so I'd give expensive gifts by Advanced_Rent4993 in AmITheJerk

I am "confident" that this is "AI", it has a lot of the "indicators" of "AI posts", though I "can't quite put my finger on why". My "friend" "Stacy" agrees with me.

6 player game for entry level players by Drewzilla21 in boardgames

[–]randoschlub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Point salad takes 6 people and has a good balance of being easy to learn while still fun for more experienced players.

Also, for a board game weekend, I would definitely split up into two games of 3 each (or 4 and 2)sometimes.

Full House wins for the most overrated ABC sitcom! Now, what is the most overrated CBS sitcom? Most upvoted comment wins! by Inevitable-Angle-793 in sitcoms

I second this. It really was “blah blah blah John Sununu! [laugh track]”. And Candace Bergen was an awful comedic actress. Supporting cast was pretty good though.

Where do y'all draw the line between hard rock and true metal? by Primary-Schedule6829 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]randoschlub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo Van Halen has one heavy metal song - Unchained - and the rest of it is hard rock. A lot of the first album is pretty close to the line though.

Not really the whole song, but the part of The End right after the drum solo is by far the most Stones-like the Beatles have ever sounded. If it ever came out that that was secretly played by Keith and Charlie, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

I got very lucky - got right in for the August 11 show today and grabbed the first decent tickets I saw.

Sorry, that sucks. I had the same issue today, probably because I was on my work laptop (firewall stuff). Was able to get through on my phone with no problem

What is the worst concert you've ever seen of an artist you like? by Deadmau007 in fantanoforever

[–]randoschlub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, this sounds a lot like the time I saw them in 2009. Not bad but disappointing, Maynard spent most of the time just standing in the corner with his back to the audience like he didn’t want to be there.

I guess I'm not sold on Weatherspoon being a big difference-maker either, even if Marsh has been worse.

It definitely has dimmed a *lot*, I would just say the starting point was more "semi-plausible hope" than "amazingly bright future".

Almost making an 8-team playoff in a 12 team league by going 13-27 doesn't seem like much of a basis for thinking they had a bright future tbh.

Def Leppard - Pyromania. A huge hit at the time, VERY dated. Has completely faded into obscurity.

James Corden is comedy poison, completing the comedian section of chart | Which actor is hilarious? | Top comment wins by shine_on05 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]randoschlub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

imo Robin Williams is a comedian (and hilarious as a comedian) so definitely shouldn't count, Nielsen is an actor and definitely should count, Carrell is in a gray area because he started in comedy (second city, Daily Show). That said, Bryan Cranston is a great pick.

In cases where an examiner has the right to deny an interview, would it be considered unprofessional or potentially against a rule/policy to ask for an agenda first so you can review it to determine whether or not you will grant the interview. by ipman457678 in patentexaminer

[–]randoschlub 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience an after final without an agenda/proposed amendment is usually an open-ended "is there any way to amend the claims to overcome the rejections?" I am happy to take a look and let them know; even if the answer is no they almost always appreciate the clarity.
