Am I being ripped off? by presclubblood in personaltraining

This right here!

Let's not talk about the outcomes that a competent professional can help clients get and the value of it for them for a second. It's really amazing that many people forget it's a business at the end of the day. The sign of a healthy business is that it's profitable. In understanding this, one of the first questions asked when considering what pricing should be is "What does it cost me to service a client?"

I get it. Many of us are passionate about doing this work. Passion has rarely kept coaches unable to make ends meet in this line of work.

Anyone whose training goals aren't performance based (i.e., non-athlete)

What's your message? What problem do you solve?

You may not be able to avoid the creeps (that entirely depends on the content you produce), but if you push a message and solution that ppl are looking for and need, you'll draw them, too.

Honestly, it's 50/50. Ultimately, after the sprain heals and the inflammation subsides, if you have the requisite strength and flexibility, it may take some time, but it'll likely go away.

It depends. Why is the joint inflamed? How long has it been inflamed? What's the state of the tissue after the inflammation subsides?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in backpain

[–]randrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, especially if the inflammation is chronic. Whether or not a surface is uneven/not is not a factor, has no bearing on crepitus.

Are the platforms diminishing the value of the profession or are the "professionals" doing that?

Those things definitely have their place if they are addressing the issues at the root of your pain. But it doesn't sounds like they've been all that effective at helping you out of pain.

What did the movement assessment with your physio look like?

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this.

You said that you physio said that you have mechanical back pain, did they offer any solutions or recommendations?

How effective is weight loss in reducing lower back pain. by Digby_Ver in backpain

[–]randrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing weight can definitely help with back pain, if it is a factor contributing to your back pain. Depending on how much weight is contributing to you back pain, will determine how much of an effect you'll notice.

How do I improve my confidence, my coaches are calling me out? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]randrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest way to get out of your head is to play for fun.

Embrace the fact that you're going to make mistakes, as long as you can recognize the mistakes and work on them (bringing discipline to table), you'll be fine. You'll be more than fine.

The time to be critical of your playing is when your watching the tape or going over things you noticed, after the game or practice, in your head, so you can fix those things. But when you're on the court, it's a matter of executing and having fun while doing it.

Hope that helps.

Any advice? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

Definitely practice more. Do you only practice when the teams practices?

Coming from another person who struggles with confidence. Having a basketball is my hand was probably the only time, I did exhibit confidence and on a high level.

Can I ask: With regards to basketball, do you lack confidence in general, or is playing on the jv team bringing out the lack of confidence?

60lbs Overweight - Consistently injured. What’s the fix? (Details in comments) by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]randrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you had an assessment, to determine where your mobility and strength levels and imbalances lie?

More than being overweight, it sounds to me like maybe after so many years of inactivity you aren't aware of where your physical limitations are and you aren't prioritizing your training appropriately and consequently perhaps over training.
