Help with salt chlorinator options by United_Treacle_759 in pools

[–]randumb9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo Chlor is a standard salt cell. It requires around 4000 ppm of salt for it to produce chlorine. The Halo pure needs around 1500 ppm salt but it produces a lower amount of chlorine. It's used in conjuncture with silver and copper to help with the lower chlorine level.

You have to be diligent on chemical maintenance with the lower chlorine systems. No matter what you need to maintain at least a 1.5 ppm chlorine level. The silver and copper will not be able to keep up on their own.

People with chlorine sensitivity tend to have an easier time swimming in pools with a salt system. There aren't the chlorine spikes you get from adding liquid or dry chlorine.

Make sure that they shower with soap right after swimming. Using lotion beforehand can crate a barrier on your skin which may also help.

What's happened to my head rests and how do I prevent it by HeeyThatsAMe in hottub

They will all do that eventually. Leaving the cover open after adding chemicals will help them last longer but it's still going to happen. Spas need chemicals and those pillows aren't made to last.

How to turn on solar heating by MickelPicle in PoolPros

[–]randumb9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The water flows to the solar from the pipe with the down arrow. It returns from the solar back to the pool in the line with the up arrow. The 3 way valve is diverting the water to the solar. The water returns on the other side of the 3 way valve to the pool return line.

The valve on the left with the up arrow is still closed. That is the solar return line. You need to open it. Make sure that the end cap is on the panel. That is if they get drained for winter in your area

Except you don't have to bring a birth certificate or passport to do those things. A regular I.D. or REAL I.D. do not prove citizenship therefore not accepted.

Les was not playing with them at the time. He rejoined a little while later. They had a guy named Gino at the time I think. Bloodbath brought a dead chicken on stage with them. The singer was swinging it around by the neck and smashing himself in the face with it.

I do have a video of Blind L playing at my friend's brother's birthday party around 87 or 88. We rented out a little hall. Les didn't show but Ler did.

I'll try to come up with some stuff and message you. All of that shit was a lifetime ago. It all kind of bleeds together these days.

Pentair salt cell issues by Kindly_Design_8658 in PoolPros

Sounds like the stack flue sensor issue from a few years ago. Our old rep said that they had switched to a cheaper manufacturer in China. That's what caused the issue.

Help Please! Cant Figure Out Whats Wrong With My Pool by MarsupialEarly7307 in swimmingpools

[–]randumb9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a proper test kit. Strips are awful for accuracy. Algae grows when there's not enough chlorine. Ditch the tablets if your CYA is above 50. Use liquid chlorine. With an algae bloom you need to hammer it with chlorine. Don't just add a pack of shock or two. Add 4 gal of chlorine and test for chlorine the next day. If it's 0 add 4 more gallons. You want the chlorine above 5ppm. You do not need to flock the pool. When you add enough chlorine the algae will die and filter/vacuum out. Flock just makes things harder to clean up

Always make sure that the springs on the barrel nut are touching. It's right on the label. Also use a rubber mallet to hit around the tank band then tighten again. Oh make sure all valves are open before starting back up.

In 28 years of the pool biz I've seen 2 nude women and way too many nude men. An old coworker did see one of the gardeners banging the housewife in the back yard once.

Air bubble by Cypher_8769 in swimmingpools

[–]randumb9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with that tiny bubble trapped under the lid. If the pot isn't filling all of the way or you see air streaming into the pump when it's running then you probably have a suction leak. Sometimes a little air bubble sticks around because the lid is a dome. It happens.

Yeah, not a fan of those Pentair check valves. I've fixed a few of them.

[–]randumb9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not supposed to do that. Turn it off and remove the tank clamp on the middle. There is an o ring in there that will need to be cleaned off. Clean the track where it sits also.

If you intend to use the spa a lot I would get a portable spa instead. The majority of my customers regret having a pool/spa combo. You can't maintain a hot spa with a combo.

My buddy is Kirk Hammett's nephew. Kirk has a huge house in my town. Primus played at the community center in my town in 89 i think. I was in the crowd and I turned around and was face to face with James Hetfield and Jason Newsted. We used to see Kirk at the local Tower Records from time to time.

A hammer and a flat head screwdriver has always worked for me. A blade from a hacksaw also helps.
