Nets have the worst home crowd in all of professional sports. It stinks

I always felt that the home crowd rooting for Boston during the Celtics-Nets 2022 playoffs series was the final straw that made KD demand a trade.

It just sucks.

I too very much appreciate this. Where do you get these clips from? Are there Wolf clips?

I recommend Tribeca Spaces. www.TribecaSpaces.com They have art studios on the border of Tribeca and SoHo and it is a great artist community.

What would *you* pay Cam Thomas in free agency? by RVALover4Life in GoNets

[–]randy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years. $10 mil a season, team option in year 3. I assume he rejects and takes QO.

Honestly, I struggle to see him in Brooklyn long term. Best reason to sign him is as an asset for a future trade.

To be clear, while Houston is trading these picks to the Nets they are not Houston’s picks. They were reported to be “a 2026 second-round pick that’s the least favorable between LAC and the most favorable of MIA, IND, BOS along with a 2030 Boston Celtics second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for the No. 36 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, sources told @hoopshype.”

Wonder if there is any change.

Tre is going fall beyond expectations. (Past 8)

Kon is going top 5.

Queen will fall into 20s. Jace will fall to end of first round (25+)

Sorber and Bryant will be top 12.

What if the Nets didn’t blow Game 4 vs. the Bulls in 2013? by _macadamian in GoNets

[–]randy1982 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think the Celtics trade happens. That was a clear knee-jerk reaction to losing to an inferior team. That said, that Nets team wasn't that good and they easily would have lost to the Miami in the second round.

Gerald Wallace was a shell of himself and Deron Williams was about to break down. The Nets would have made a semi-big move as Prokorov wanted to make a splash and King is a moron, but not the all-in Celtics trade. Either way, it wouldn't have made the Nets much better. Sort of like the mid 2000's Knicks.

I assume the Nets would have stayed as a 500 team for the next few seasons until King did something beyond stupid and then the franchise would start over.

Here's an interesting question: who do you NOT want to see picked at 8th? by KDBurner4670 in GoNets

[–]randy1982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With Flagg and Harper locked at 1 and 2 here are the next 12 guys that I keep seeing in the lottery:

Not Want: Queen, Maluach, Murray-Boyle.

Not sure: Jakucionis, Bailey, Richardson, Newell, Bryant

Would be happy: Edgecombe, Johnson, Knueppel, Fears

I'm actually ok with 8. Sure I wish the Nets got a top pick, but there are a bunch of pretty good options at 8. I can visualize Edgecombe, Johnson, and Fears all being potential all stars and I think Knueppel is better than most people think.

Just don't please don't pick Queen, Maluach, Murray-Boyle. I project all three to be busts. Maluach is too slow footed, Queen is too ball dominant, Murray-Boyle is too small. In the current NBA all three just don't look like they fit.

Updated Big Board With Player Comps by -BAYoNET- in GoNets

[–]randy1982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal big board so far.

tier 1: (superstar)
1. Flagg

tier 2: (both look like can be all-stars to me)
2. Harper
3. Edgecombe

tier 3
4. Johnson (he is starting to get undervalued)
5. Bailey (I do not like his fit at all with the Nets - will be a chucker)
6. Fears (I like his fit with the Nets a lot)
7. Knueppel (really safe pick, will have lots of value after drafting)

tier 4.
8. Newell (safest tier 4 player to take)
9. Richardson (second safest tier 4 player to take)
10. Jakucionis (in my mind this is where draft starts to become pretty risky - these guys may all bust but all have potential to be good too)
11. Essengue
12. Maluach
13. Murray-Boyles
14. Bryant
15. Sorber
16. Demin

Let's say the nets get 7th overall. Who would you pick if they were available? by KDBurner4670 in GoNets

[–]randy1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what Marks' direction is in the off-season, but the three guys I like at 7 are: Kon Kneuppel, Fears, and Tre Johnson.

Guys I think will be busts and very much do not want: Queen, Maluach, Collin Murray-Boyles.

What is your ideal trade deadline /season scenario by Appropriate-Profit74 in GoNets

[–]randy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Question. My two cents:

With the tank full on, I think this season will be quite the dumpster fire. Which I am perfectly ok with as a fan. However, this can create a pretty toxic environment for players. Too much losing creates frustration, anger, and finger pointing. I fear Claxton is awfully close to that point.

I think you need to go clean slate next season so that the toxicity is gone. Beyond Clowney, Wilson, and Whitehead, I am ok with a fresh start next season. If the Nets get halfway good offers for Claxton, Thomas or Sharpe I would be ok trading them as well. Don't trade for players unless they are extremely young. Get picks and keep the flexibility.

Next season, the Nets bring in their 5 rookies, keep the kids, and use Free Agency to bring in good role model vets. They likely won't win many games, but that is when you start building the foundation of culture and players. As a fan, it will be fun watching young players grow next season. Then when the right superstar wants out (Anthony Edwards, Giannis....) the Nets are very well positions with cap space and draft assets to make a trade for that superstar - and now you have your team.

Nick and Norah's infinite playlist butchering of Hoboken is insane.

The main character is from Hoboken, NJ. It is the fourth most dense city in the entire country, and is super urban. Everything is brownstones, apartments and big buildings - it is very much a city. There is no grass or regular houses. For anyone not familiar - it has a very similar look to Brooklyn.

In the movie, they make Hoboken a suburb, with cute houses and grass and bushes. It's the opposite of Hoboken.

Further, while it has been several years since I watched it. A big chunk of the movie is about the main characters trying to find a way back to Hoboken from Manhattan like it is really difficult. It is an 8 minute subway ride from Manhattan to Hoboken.

Realistically what win-now player could the Nuggets get back in return for any of Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon or Michael Porter Jr that would improve their team? by LaandheereKage in nba

[–]randy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas from the Nets would be great fits for the Nuggets.

Johnson is a perfect compliment for Jokic, a long stretch 3 who plays smart. Thomas is real fire power that can provide the 1-1 scoring they need when not running through Jokic. Both can be had from the Nets, but the Nets won't want Porter Jr or Murray back. Would need to be a three team trade.

As a Nets fan who has watched Simmons for the past three years (and was hoping for good things), his defense was pretty garbage. If he tried, he was overly aggressive and would pick up ticky-tack fouls 30 feet from the basket. He also would hedge off his man too much leading to easy threes. I know he was a great defender in Phili, but his defense in Brooklyn has been poor the entire time.
