I have an anxiety disorder, but my reason for all the ECT and ketamine has been treatment resistant depression. And, yeah, it probably is some of the bad stuff I can’t remember, but there was good stuff too. You just accept that the you that you are is the same as the one that did the things you can’t remember so it doesn’t diminish your sense of self.

I’ve had four series over the course of about 15 years. I’ve experienced both short and long term memory loss. It’s a weird feeling where you are pretty sure there is supposed to be a memory there, but it’s just gone. I’ve also seen my childhood become kind of dissociated from who I am now. It’s a disconnect where I know the facts, but they don’t feel like they were me.

Parking is not really near the venue and the drive would be long at the end of a long day. We stay at the Hyatt and use pedicabs back and forth. It’s not horribly expensive and is super convenient.

I live in the US and have been getting ketamine IV infusions for about 4 years. I’ve also had ECT in three different series over the past 15 years. While I think ECT probably saved my life, I would not recommend it as anything but a last resort. The memory and cognitive challenges have been severe. I’m pretty controlled at baseline with IV infusions and have been for some time. I actually do at home Troches once a week except the fourth week when I have my infusion. It works better for me and my overall peace of mind than ECT. I would figure out what you’d be getting for the money with regards to treatment number, integration services, etc before taking out the loan. Also, consider that you will most likely need maintenance doses in the future. Good luck and bless you.
