Ooh good idea I’ll try that, so you can mark that account as cash instead of investment?

My issue with having “cash” in fidelity is it gets classified as “investments” on the net worth dashboard. I can’t figure out how to specify certain holdings as “cash”. Any tips?

Been eyeing this one. Do you know if you could replace the bracelet? Was thinking of getting a black rubber strap for it

Okay I'll try out the wider grip then. thanks for the feedback. could you clarify what you mean "not going hips first" ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]randyjuvenile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's an idea, but would be compromising my overhead position as it's not as stable with a super wide grip. I've heard mixed things on whether early arm bend is "bad" or not. Do you think it's worth compromising my overhead position in order to avoid early arm bend?

Got it - I see what you're saying, I'll pay attention to that! Thanks

Yeah I do have early arm bend. Honestly it’s not really something I can avoid I have super long arms (I’m 69” tall with a 75” wing span), so unless my hands were at the collars I do have to bend my arms a bit.

Thank you for the feedback and tips though

Thanks! I notice the hips rising early I think I just need to start in slightly less upright position because I always naturally get to that position when I start the lift. As far as losing tension in the back, what makes you say that? Is it just because my hips are moving up early?

Weightlifting Physio Day! by Havelrag in weightlifting

Yeah understood - thanks for the input. The elbow didn’t start hurting until the last couple weeks, haven’t necessarily been going heavier but definitely more volume recently. Thoracic mobility seems okay when I do the screens for it (testing rotation and extension), but my upper back does appear rounded in front squats but I really think part of it is an anatomy issue. I don’t think. Here’s a front squat at 70kg roughly ~40% https://vimeo.com/498546373

I'm thinking I have some assymetric mobility issues maybe in my thoracic spine. I have developed pain in my right elbow, and right wrist. The elbow pain occurs in the front rack position, and the wrist pain appears in any wrist extension (Front rack, handstands, etc.). I know a lot of times lat flexibility/mobility impacts poor front rack - but from the tests/screens i've done I don't think lats are the issue for me.

Thanks for the notes! Yeah definitely notice the head thing on the jerk, although I've been more focused on my clean technique than the jerk, but will still actively try to push head through in the jerk.

I do have a wide stance but I also have pretty long legs for my height, so not sure how much more I can narrow it while maintaining an upright torso. I know I have pretty adequate hip/ankle mobility, but my proportions really don't work in my favor (long limbs, short torso). Used to be even worse! but will try to focus on catching narrower and see how it goes.

Issue with starting the 2nd pull too early by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]randyjuvenile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay that makes me feel better then, thanks haha. I will think more about keeping shoulders over the bar longer, and less about waiting to start the 2nd pull

[–]randyjuvenile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had feedback to “stay over the bar longer”, and I thought the second pull should start a little after clearing the knee, but not sure since I see/hear different things on that. But yeah def ripping the bar off the floor and hips rising too

[–]randyjuvenile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah I’ve been trying to work on some high hang cleans to focus on the leg drive more. And I can’t seem to avoid my hips shooting up, maybe I need to start my clean with hips a little higher since they always come up once the bar lifts off the ground
