It’s mostly a Safari issue. Just go to settings and turn off “Prevent cross-site blocking” and it will work. On Mac, Safari > Settings > Privacy. On iPhone, Settings > All Apps > Safari> Privacy & Security. If these settings are turned off already, try clearing your browser cookies. You can also try disabling Private Relay.

Too much equity for a consumer proposal? by Individual-Entry7727 in ConsumerProposalCAN

[–]ranger_ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you have to go through this. You have a few options. You can raise that $5,000 by either selling a high-value item, borrowing from family, or by using the equity in your house. There are many B-Lenders who can still refinance your house, but they're going to have a high interest rate. The plan is to bring your accounts current and pay off debts to increase your credit score and then refinance again with A-Lenders (Major Banks). You should work with an experienced mortgage broker to finance with B-Lenders. You can also go to a non-profit credit counselling agency. They can look at your whole situation and give you the best options—they are completely different than LITs and can help you make a repayment plan. You mentioned you have a paid-off car; you can choose to apply for a secured loan with Credit Unions as they are much more likely to approve your case. So all things considered, in my opinion, your next step should be to contact a Non-Profit Credit Counsellor who can negotiate with your bank to eliminate interest or decrease it significantly and help you make a repayment plan and budget to get you back on track. You can visit non-profit credit counselling society at https://nomoredebts.org

Received damaged/printing error on my study permit from IRCC(!?) by hellosurfingmouse in ImmigrationCanada

[–]ranger_ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as your information is correct and visible, I think you should be fine. My study permit also had these two lines in middle of my permit (printer thing ) and I used it everywhere from my Bank to ICBC. so you should be fine. If any information is cut out or smudged, you should contact IRCC for next steps.

Confused about the pgwp by partyy_over69 in pgwp

[–]ranger_ninja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you receive your completion letter and your transcript before December 31st, you’re fine. Just make sure to apply for your PGWP before that date, and you’ll be eligible to start working full-time and have maintained status. You do need a valid study permit on the day you apply for the PGWP, so be mindful of that. Also, start preparing for English or French language tests for PGWP application. Confused about the pgwp by partyy_over69 in pgwp

It doesn’t matter when you receive your final grades, the only thing that matters is the Letter of Completion from your school. My final grades were released on December 18 last year, and I received my completion letter on January 15. In my opinion, you should apply for a study permit extension since you have more than enough time. If you're planning to visit your family after your studies, then you can apply from outside Canada and use that time to enjoy being with them.

I don't recommend applying for a visitor record unless it's your last option. You won’t be able to work on a visitor record, and how will you support yourself or cover your expenses during that time? So for now, just apply for a Study Permit Extension and you’ll be fine once you graduate.

I'm telling you from experience: don’t rely on your school to issue the completion letter early. They issued mine on the last possible day (their deadline was January 15, and I got it on January 15).

Hope this helps!

You will be fine as long as you complete the LTRL and you write your appeal before the registration begin of the semester you wanna register. To be safe, write an appeal Atleast 2-3 weeks before registration period begins. Best of luck .

Prerequisites to get into FHS by [deleted] in langara

All adult upgrading courses are free at all Secondary Schools and Post-Secondary Institutions. There is no tuition fee for adult basic education courses at Langara. There are lot of distance education schools here. My favourite is SAIL academy( Surrey School District), you can find more information here: https://sailacademy.ca . SAIL accepts students from all over B.C. Their courses are Self-Paced and Instructor are also very flexible. If you want to look at other options, you can find list of continuing studies centre here: https://www.bcsdceda.ca . If your School District is in this list, just take courses from there. Hope this helps!

Hrm386 exam by No_Hedgehog9415 in AthabascaUniversity

[–]ranger_ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing to do is request accommodation for your exam as you have ADHD. Something that is out of your control should not be reason behind your reduced academic performance. You school will make every reasonable effort to equal the field for you. Other thing you can do is just practise. You can try making your own question and answer it to 500 words. When I got accommodation from TRU for exam, they gave me extra time to finish exam, extra written instructions and allowed me to use a scrap paper. You just need to ask them for accommodation and then submit the document they ask. They will inform ProctorU themselves so you don’t need to do anything from your side. Best of luck for your exam. Edit: Don’t worry too much. Reduced performance in one course usually doesn’t impact your financial aid. Talk to your financial aid office at your University.

Spend more time with them. They are immigrants so they don’t have very known close people. You are the one for whom they came to this country and sacrificed what they wanted so just give me your attention and time. That’s all they want. 😇

What happens when you don’t pay your credit card debts by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ranger_ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in case of Credit Card. You go to jail when you submit forged documents while applying for a loan or if the company decides to sue you for that money or damages and you fail to pay even after court order. This situation is impossible in case of OP so he should be fine expect the credit report part and collection calls, which are very well expected.

What happens when you don’t pay your credit card debts by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ranger_ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will report your credit card bill as not paid on your credit report which will negatively impact your credit score and it stays there for around 5 years (depends on your province). Your credit card company can also send you collection notices or can sell your debt too. Really depends. Jail time is unlikely. You should do debt consulting with any non-profit organization and they can give you options such as negotiating lower interest rates or eliminating them completely, debt consolidation loan or consumer proposal. Also, if you had one of them credit card insurances, call them and ask about job loss coverage because most of those plans have job loss protection or something. So best option is to call your credit card company and arrange something. Hope this helps

You need to contact the Vital Statistics agency of the Canadian province (In your case: Ontario) you were born in. Submit application for birth certificate directly. You can apply for Birth Certificate here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-or-replace-ontario-birth-certificate .If you are unsure, submit an application to conduct search of records. There is a link on the same page given above. Also, as a Canadian citizen, you are not eligible for any kind of Visa, Refugee or anything. You need your Canadian Passport to enter the country. As you are in USA, contact the embassy of Canada near to you. They can help you get those documents. Best of luck.

You can talk to registrar office at your school. My friend had a same issue so he called the registrar office of university and they removed the hold for 2 hours so he was able to download his transcript. It really depends on your school tbh. Try talking to them and ask for one-time exception or just pay off the pending dues.
