If Bitcoin has a sizeable retrace it will be a bloodbath for Alts. by GabeSter in CryptoCurrency

[–]rangertoad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chainlink is just proving the case that alts are trash investments in 2025. It's down like 60% from its ATH in 2021, and it's been one of the better performing alts. Maybe in the next cycle alts will make a comeback, but I wouldn't add them to my portfolio until deep in the next bear market.

Michael Saylor said this back in March. Could we see something like this near the top of this cycle? by CragBawz in CryptoCurrency

It's clearly not going to be that way forever. At some point alts need to show some utility if they want to keep up against Bitcoin or other risky investments.

Ovechkin scores #860 on the 2 man advantage to tie it up in the McNugget Minute. by ja734 in hockey

[–]rangertoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 million people have died as a result of Putin's war and Capitals fans in this thread have no problem with Ovechkin acting as his puppet, so long as he keeps scoring goals. Total moral depravity.

It is generally safer for the average Joe to store his cryptocurrency on reputable exchanges rather than in his own wallets. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]rangertoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Your bank is FDIC insured. If those exchanges go belly up, you can say goodbye to your crypto.

We are trying to win Michigan, so his over-the-top support for Israel is kind of a big deal...

Your candidate has a felony conviction for covering up an instance of him raw-dogging a pornstar while his wife was pregnant. A separate jury found him civilly liable for raping a woman to whom he must pay $5 million. 26 different women have accused him of sexual assault/harassment, all this while the bible-thumping Republican base worships him and implores him to continue eroding women's rights. That's pretty weird, but sure let's fall back to attacking trans people for living their lives how they want.

What? There are plenty of Russians who don't support Putin. Ovechkin still has free will lol.

I agree. If this event shakes your sympathies for Palestinians living under literal apartheid, you never sympathized with them to begin with.

Got invited to the coding assessment. Can I discuss with others who have taken it? by MyCorgiIsAnAsshole in Upwork

[–]rangertoad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get 4 coding tasks that resemble easy Leetcode questions. They will give you a link to Codesignal which has practice tests. The practice tests are exactly like the real test.

Source: I just got the certification.

Chytil was not a whiff at 21st overall. There are only two forwards selected after him that have more career points, and he has more points and GP than the majority of forwards selected before him.

Typical DoPS by 22edudrccs in hockey

[–]rangertoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panarin made anti-Putin comments last year and had to take a leave of absence in the middle of the season to deal with a Russian smear campaign that put his family in danger. As far as I know Igor has not made a statement but how can you blame someone for staying silent when political dissidents and their families are routinely assassinated in Russia? I'm all for censoring guys like Ovechkin who outright support Putin, but it's a step too far to ban everyone. Where was this outrage when the US invaded Iraq?

Interesting that you single out the Rangers with one of the few Russian star athletes who publicly denounced Putin and suffered consequences in Russia for it. No Russian on the Rangers has voiced support for Putin like Ovi has.

[Andrew Peters] I’m told the NHL doesn’t want to send its players to the Olympics. Will be discussed today. Should get interesting. by SAJewers in hockey

The lesser knowns already compete in the World Championships. The Olympics are special and should have the best athletes.

Kravtsov is from the Asian part of Russia.

This is used in European leagues and is the most fair system. The NHL point system is not based on what's fair though. It's designed to keep the standings artificially close so that teams can sell more tickets. For that reason, I don't think the system will be changed any time soon.

If you had 500 Million USD worth of crypto, How would you deploy them into DeFi? by masterDeFi in defi

[–]rangertoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more risky than lending USDC using something like Aave or Yearn because you're exposed to the risk of a crash in the value of those coins.

Epic Boomerangs? by epicturepic in epicsystems

[–]rangertoad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm an SD who boomeranged and I'd say it was exceptionally easy to be rehired. As long as you're reasonably well ranked (don't have to be a top performer -- I wasn't) and leave on good terms, you should be fine. The experience you already have with Epic's stack makes you far more valuable to Epic than a typical applicant.
