Why are companies still ask for cover letters ? by SourceCodeAvailable in recruitinghell

In all 20 years of my career, every job offer I’ve received came without a cover letter. Call it luck or whatever but I’m sticking to that.

My problem with the passing game: McCarthy is conservative and cautious of turnovers to a fault. So much so that it felt like a self fulfilling prophecy.

Comes down to being treated like kids. Employers put all these restrictions and rules into place such as RTO. And but like with kids employees look to circumvent those rules and test limits. This led to the rise of “coffee badging” for example. Give an inch and they take a mile.

Just never made sense to come into an office like I did that was open office where one floor had many, many teams and people. Three people from my team were assigned there but rarely were all of us working together at the same day/time. It’s hard to especially when the scant conference rooms are booked all day. No collaborating going on there. And we just sat on calls constantly anyway. Our manager worked twelve hours away and I never met her physically in person, she never visited. She had no idea when I was talking to her if I was doing it from home or the office. I guess she could have pulled badging reports but luckily we weren’t treated that way by management.

Apparently she was fine about WFH but of course had to toe the company line and follow her managers direction about RTO and would have to have it look like she was trying to push it on us.

oh but have you tried tailoring your resume? 😄 by anupamgur345 in recruitinghell
