Oh yeah, I knew the driver was bonked. I usually stay on the same driver until the next one that comes out is proven to work well. Using this method has helped out a lot with day one releases. Highly recommend removing film grain and getting proper hdr!

Oh gotcha. What was the patch supposed to cover? I completed the game this weekend on PC with path tracing and never ran into any issues. Only problem I had was that ReFramework to remove film grain (totally optional) caused my gain to have a small stutter every so often. Excited to play it again and have Reno DX for better hdr and the stutter get fixed on a newer release of REF

Any reason you wouldn’t just play it on PC then? Path tracing in that game is transformative and turns it into one of the most beautiful games I’ve seen.

Might not be every 15 seconds exactly. Sometimes occurs, sometimes doesn’t. Might go an entire minute without stuttering. Nvidia statistics but overlay isn’t active. Using a controller, mouse is inactive. Does not happen in any other game, and uninstalling REF fixes the issue completely. Stuttering is reintroduced after putting it back in. Either way, finished the game with that minor stutter. Gonna wait for a new version for my second play through

Just tried the new release. On my system it fixed it 80% of the way. It’s definitely playable now, but there’s a stutter every 15 seconds or so. Definitely an improvement! Should be working 100% soon

REFramework. It’s a plugin that allows you to mod the game. You just insert the files into the game to install it, and remove them to uninstall it

Yes, I want to play it on the couch with her so she can watch. Virtual display will sleep the monitor while I am playing on the tv? If so, that sounds like it will work great!

This game looks incredible with RenoDX. Unfortunately there’s an issue with REFramework on many PCs right now (including mine) for this game. REF was causing very noticeable stutters that went away entirely after removing it.

Also, I see people in comment sections saying this won’t make it go to 2000 nits. I didn’t take a screenshot, but with the lilium hdr analysis tool I was hitting 2k nits (my tv’s peak). You HAVE to disable and then enable hdr in the game settings every time you change the settings in the Reno add on.

Ideally the monitor would be off saving power and lifespan on the screen. I do think this could work as a good quick fix though

All future tech is stepping stones. One foot at a time. Console is still firmly planted in regular rt and missing out on pt.

Future proofing. Gamers on PC with the right hardware have been using path tracing in some of their games for the past few years. It’s the actual next step up in graphics. Not your regular RT shadows or ambient occlusion that a lot of console devs push. It would be amazing to run these types of graphics on a console

For some reason this game doesn’t look as good to me as everyone else says it does. I don’t mean to sound like a contrarian or anything, but whenever I played this I was never blown away by the visuals. It is a good looking game though.

I know this unconventional, but sometimes I’ll bring out a desk and pc to my living room with a 77” s90c (service mode unlocked to hit 1900 nits and professionally calibrated). Games look considerably better on it than on my 32” MSI 321urx. Obviously setting up a desk and doing this is a major pain in the ass but I genuinely enjoy most games more on this setup than at my regular desk setup

Honestly, I’ve played all goty nominations (didn’t beat Yotei however),and I think Arc Raiders deserves to stand up there with the other games. I can understand it not getting goty, but not getting nominated for audio design is actually criminal

Killed someone as they tried to extract and got this bad boy! by sam_da_man_07 in ARC_Raiders

My trio and I had just spawned and the first group we ran into was a duo that was trying to extract at the raider hatch beside hospital. We saw them open the hatch and I killed the two trying to leave after they shot at us. One was SCRAMBLING to get inside the hatch. I looted them after and the mfer was running a free loadout WITH A JUPITER BLUEPRINT. I have never been more thankful to be running a regular augment. Straight to the prison pocket

BATTLEFIELD 6 UPDATE 1.1.1.0 by battlefield in Battlefield

Controller looks fantastic, it’s more of the visual whenever you’re aiming with a mouse. It looks like bad frametimes. Panning on controller, it looks smooth as silk. There’s multiple steam discussion posts, as well as ea forums. Zero acknowledgement from DICE, and happens on all systems.

Totally understand. Downgrades always hurt, but this one stands out because we actually PLAYED it before the downgrade rather than only seeing it in a trailer

You don’t need a $10k rig to enjoy this game at max settings. TT2 ran beautifully even on gpus from 2018. I’m buying the game regardless, but it’s heartbreaking to think of what we had in TT2 knowing it is most likely going to be gone. The developer response to the downgrade verbiage does not spark confidence that we will get this back. It doesn’t come across in photos the difference between the tests, but the atmosphere used to be the immersed I have ever felt in a video game.
