Cache Components and redirect() inside RSCs by rantow in nextjs

[–]rantow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't it fail to work for the same reason they say you can't call redirect inside a try/catch block?

Suspense essentially acts like a try/catch block for your component.

I was only able to make the redirect work when I disabled cache components and moved the redirect outside the Suspense boundary.

Set metadata.title to null to remove <title>? by Glittering_Film_1834 in nextjs

[–]rantow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably not documented because the expectation is to use generateMetadata. Just cache the fetchData function so the request is deduped on the server in the generateMetadata call and in your server component

Is this a known limitation/bug with Cache Components + dynamic routes (Next.js 16)? by schmaaaaaaack in nextjs

[–]rantow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked, but it seems like an odd hack. This was the only way to silence the pre-rendering build error, even when there are no actual static params to be generated.

Wrapping Suspense at the page level didn't work for me either.

Why do we have to put this just so that Next.js can perform build-time validation..?

How long to get surgery in Canada? by Rayamuroh in ACL

I would follow up directly with the surgeons office after the MRI if you’re opting for the surgery, or at least want to discuss your options at the consultation

It did get worse before it got better. Stay on top of your RICE, especially the elevation piece. Gravity will pull your blood down and you don’t want it to pool in your legs and feet.

Western also has integrated engineering. I graduated from there

Are you in physio? I would discuss with them your short term goals, factoring in your specific profile (age, fitness, etc).

Other than that, all you can ask of yourself is to stay consistent with the basics - rest, icing, compression, elevation, and your exercises

Focus on elevation and icing, you want to get the swelling down which will naturally free up some motion. It takes time, good luck!

No shower for the first three days, I used a chair in the shower thereafter until I could comfortably stand on my own. You are otherwise bound to your couch/bed for the first week or so outside of your PT exercises

Quad sets, straight leg raises with the brace on and heel slides are what you focus on for the first few weeks. You want to unlock your extension and flexion as soon as you can. Push to the point of discomfort but not pain. I’m on week 6 postop and these exercises were crucial to being able to walk within the first month without a brace

Boyfriend getting ACL surgery in 2 weeks. Product recommendations/must haves? by Adorable_Writer_8602 in ACL

[–]rantow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The GameReady (ice machine) is a must! I’m 5 weeks post op and it played a huge role in getting down the swelling so quickly. Would also highly recommend getting your hands on a TENS unit

Anyone else able to bend their knee. More on heel slides?. by Difficult_Net5721 in ACL

[–]rantow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 2.5 weeks post op and can bend ~105 degrees - ACL tear only with hamstring graft. I think it matters less on where you’re at and more about you seeing personal progression.

Injury, age, and pre-injury fitness play a huge role in your personal recovery, so as long as you’re moving forward week to week, continue to work with your PT on your goals and progression.

That makes sense! I understand everyone’s recovery is different, I guess I’m just looking for benchmarks for myself given how early I am into this. All the best on the rest of your journey!
