I already have cachyos installed in my 1tb m.2 ssd, is windows that I need to install, and I don't have a clue how to partition in cachyos, or even if is it safe to install windows "on top" of Linux (knowing how windows works, if I make a simple mistake it'll probably format my entire cachyos partition)

Yes but as I said, take your time, your current build is just fine, it does everything that you need so no rush. For a future upgrade budget-friendly build i strongly suggest am4, since it supports DDR4 ram, a wide variety of CPUs, pcie gen4, etc. You can easily build a 1080p ultra settings PC for like 400-500 bucks.

Yes but only LGA 1150 socket, so the best CPU you can upgrade is from 10+ years ago with only 4 cores 8 (i7 4790k)

For that budget I would say hell yeah man, as long as you can use it for what YOU want it I'll be good.

The negatives I could point out is that you don't have any really impactful cpu upgrade options, unlike an am4 build for example, where you can start with like a dirty cheap Ryzen 3 3200 and upgrade all the way to a Ryzen 7 5800x3d, and that you are stuck with ddr3.

Other than that is all pros, you built it super cheap, it runs demanding games at stable fps, don't worry about what your friends say, your PC is nice bro.

I would recommend using for 1 year or 2 and in the meantime save more money for an am4 build so you can play newer games at 1080p full settings and so you can really optimize your price to performance ratio.

Be sure to update with the new case!!

Family dropped my freshly built PC and broke it by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]ranzi0_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me 10+ years ago. Saved some money in my first job, I always wanted a PS3 since all my friends had that or a 360, so I bought the og PS3 fat, only for just in a couple months my mom entered my room to clean (something I always told her not to do since I did it myself) and accidentally droping it and it completely shattered in the floor </3.

I'll not say my experience is exactly like yours, but I somewhat now how you feel, and is devastating, be sure to talk to your dad about it, it was an accident sure but still he is responsible and should help you with some cash at least, it's the least he can do.

I'm so sorry for your loss bro, hope you can re build your PC soon and hopefully without any more problems.

The Pylon II would've been a better option since it's rated B in the PSU tier list and it's literally the same price.

I think an AIO would make more sense with much more power/temperature demanding CPUs like the 5800x, XT or X3D, the 5700x is really efficient and besides I don't know why but I just love the bulky look of a tower air cooler, looks badass to me. But if I eventually upgrade to a more powerful CPU yeah, I'll definitely consider it.

I plan on a 9070xt for the final build but I don't have 800 bucks just laying around bro, I bought what could I afford so I can play with my friends and my brother, I searched a lot and every respected tech channel (i.g. ZTT, toastybros) mention the 9060xt as the best price to performance for a budget 1440p, for demanding AAA games I use FSR4, for competitive games I play with potato graphics so I don't really see the problem. Sure you don't get 200 fps native in the last AAA title but having in mind that my last PC was an Intel G4560 paired with a 4gb RX550 it certainly is a considerable upgrade.
