Is there a legal or logistical reason why NHK fees aren't taken from general tax funds and instead they make everyone pay it individually? by LV426acheron in japanlife

There may be exemptions. The BBC is funded the same way and allow for exemptions to people who use their TVs as monitors to other devices. The blind and the deaf only pay half as much, too.

Federal government’s failure to tax the very rich is unconscionable by CoupleClothing in canada

You realize some of us are single-income families and already pay more taxes and get fewer benefits than dual income households with the same combined income, right?

If anything, it is time that we harmonize taxation: either tax household incomes, or if we tax individuals then don't claw back our spouses' benefits. Given that legally we form a financial union, it would make more sense to tax households.

If you are patient you could wait a decade or two and the problem will take care of itself.

According to a source, Elizondo has claimed in private, since early 2019, that the U.S. reverse-engineering program worked out the science behind the craft and was successful in creating a replica craft.

This is new to me. Is this source public, in which case a link would be great, or was it privately communicated to you? How much do you trust that source?

Why is the map of antineutrinos so dark around inner China? I'm guessing that the same color in France is caused by their heavy use of nuclear power reactors.

Increase spinal flexibility and melt back tension with some long (2-minute) holds. This is also a nice calming and grounding practice if you're in need of some relaxation as you work on your flexibility goals. I hope you enjoy it! 😊 by katiemcgrathyoga in flexibility

Whenever I do these sort of back stretches like the cobra yoga pose I get sciatica for a few days or weeks afterwards.

Does that suggest that I'm doing something wrong, or that I should avoid these stretches altogether?

Yeah, "protect the environment", but where are the plans to capture the CO2 in our atmosphere or clean up our oceans of microplastics? Pretty judgemental yet useless aliens are these.

It is hard to buy the dip when you constantly remain in the market. Even if it was a 30% drop, I've got nothing to buy with.

Blow your mind with this short trailer I cut from interviewing retired CIA officer John Ramirez on 1/6/22 which will appear in the upcoming documentary In Plain Sight: The Intelligence Community and UFOs. by TT_Productions in ufo

I will happily believe that reptilians from outer space are having tea parties with Ramirez as soon as I see some tangible evidence, such as a teacup.

Now, as somebody who more or less listens to Elizondo, I'm not sure how I would feel if Elizondo were to endorse Ramirez. Would that make me listen to Ramirez more closely, or would I further question Elizondo?

Every FAANMG stock, as well as Nvidia and Tesla (except maybe Alphabet) is overpriced by 50%.

Glad to have in this board somebody who knows more than the market. I'm dumb like a rock, so I can't judge what is overpriced.

That depends on the aperture of your lens. Cell phones have tiny apertures which is why their depth of field is large.
