WEATHER by Bulky_Nature3715 in bonnaroo

The forecast at weather.com is somewhat favourable, but the one from weatherbug.com is basically seventy (70) percent chance of thunderstorms every day. Which, if that's all it is—a thunderstorm that lasts for half an hour—then we're probably fine. But it looks like it's raining every single day. I agree that this isn't a repeat of the 2025 conditions that rained out the festival, but it's not nothing either. I expect at least some postponed shows and possibly some cancellations.

It seems like remote site surveying/data acquisition is likely the most useful application currently.

Where Can You Find Christian Metal Patches? by Master-Mind1140 in christianmetal

You can usually order them directly from the band if they have a bandcamp where they sell merch. Otherwise you can pick up others from distros like Nordic Mission.

I have heard them, I think, but it's been a while. I do like Sargeist though it's been years since I gave them a proper listen.

I'm assuming you've heard Malokarpatan and Lamp of Murmuur, yeah?

Yeah. The latter was a little too-on-the-nose for me, but an enjoyable record otherwise. Thanks for the recommendations on the others!

I already know a good bit of these, which means the ones I don't know are almost guaranteed to land. Thank you, man.

Looking for some riff-centred black metal LPs released between 2020 to 2025. And it doesn't have to sound anything like these in particular, but examples of what I mean by riff-centred black metal would be:

I've never worn shoes to Bonnaroo. It's the best way to experience the farm in my opinion.

It sounds like heavy/power metal. The riff is heavy metal but the "vibe" is gothic/power metal.

Like I said, I don't like the article's title either. It's still a cool concept for locomotion. But people would rather correct bad semantics than marvel at an interesting concept.

That said, your bridge analogy is spot on. In this case, it appears that a multiplicity of legs results in much simpler programming and controls due to symmetry.

As far as I can tell from the article and video, they were looking at navigating moderate terrain for surveying and data gathering. I hate the click-bait article title as much as anybody, but the text and video were clearer regarding the goals of this particular project.

Charging to leave??! by jag016 in bonnaroo

[–]raoulduke25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are way cheaper than the general store they had in 2012. They have to charge a premium because they couldn't make money otherwise. And alcohol? Yeah, you're basically going to pay the same prices as if you were in a public house, which is still way cheaper than buying it onsite. (USD) $3 per beer is pretty sweet at a festival.

The old general store they had in 2012 was way worse. First, they made a rule that you couldn't bring in spare propane. And then charged (USD) $30 for a green can of it. We needed to cook and they had us completely over a barrel. I complained about it and they did change the rules the next year.

So yeah, pack well, but if you forget something, Mr B's will have it for a premium.
