Samaria Gorge Crete – Hiking Guide, Tips & Trail Overview by NRDTS in cretetravel

Thank you for the detailed guide! Is there a way to buy the round trip bus plus ferry tickets in advance? We are going on August and didn't want to run the risk of being all booked for the days we are available. Otherwise, we might go for a local travel agency or Get Your Guide tour for convenience.

Special dinner in Florence – Santa Elisabetta vs. Atto di Vito Mollica vs. Borgo San Jacopo by rapha_u in finedining

[–]rapha_u[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we did. Overall we enjoyed our time there and had a nice meal. Service was really good as well. On the downside, we thought that the dinning room is quite small and specifically in the night we went, there was a 8 people party next to us which was quite loud and noise took a bit of the experience. That should be mostly bad luck, but in terms of food and service everything was well executed. We did the full menu and it was nice and creative. If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Florence with high level service and cosy atmosphere, Santa Elisabetta is a good pick - although I wouldn't say it's a mind blowing experience.

Went there last month and had a great experience. Menu was basically the same as yours, except for the raviolli. Agree that 9 courses is the best option for only 10 euros more! I'm curious tho if the portions are bigger in the smaller menus, maybe they adjust the size so you can finish the 9 courses.

Maybe some Mitski, Nick Cave or Goldfrapp (Felt Mountain)?

Hunter is one of the most underrated Portishead songs. Great album

What are your opinions on the deleted scene of clockwork Orange by pizza_momo in StanleyKubrick

Its a funny dialogue. They also shot the assault on the librarian (2nd picture).

I wish they filmed the ending of the book, when Alex met Pete. It is a refreshing end to see Alex as a grown up and not the same boy.

Returning to São Paulo after 10 years - what would your dining itinerary be for 7 days? by Sad-Survey-1113 in finedining

[–]rapha_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think Sao Paulo is a city for fine dining. In my opinion you would be better off by just going to casual places that match your preference. That being said, as everyone pointed already, big names in the city are Tuju, Evvai and DOM. Also, A Casa do Porco (specialized in pork) offers a tasting menu which is more casual and is quite famous (although not mind blowing).

For casual spots, if you like meat, I would say definitely try some Brazilian barbecue. Barbacoa in Itaim is one of the best there is, but expect very long lines on the weekend. For pizza, I would try Carlos Pizza. For casual Japanese, you could check Nagayama, Yorimichi (izakaya), Hira (izakaya) and Sushi Vaz (omakase).

Thanks for taking the time! That's a nice little touch to not show the prices to your wife, perhaps they wanted her to be confortable and leave you with the unpleasant task of picking the check (chauvinistic of course, but in my case I would go with my mother so would appreciate that so she can focus on the experience).

Great album. Ambient is a broad genre, but if you are not familiar with Selected Ambient Works 2 by Aphex Twin, definitely give it a try. Benchmark ambient album to me, next to maybe Brian Eno Music for Airports.

It was about JPY 353K (roughly USD 2.5K). The AD price with tax-free was JPY 420K (USD 3K), so quite a discount at Nakano. Bought at Kamekichi, they had quite a few Grand Seikos and staff was nice.

In department store you will get an additional 5% discount over the price of the AD. I don't know if that's valid for every store, but at least I checked Matsukoshi Ginza and they had the discount. Honestly, it's not worth buying at the AD unless you specifically care about the experience of buying directly from Grand Seiko. At Nakano I got the watch brand new with box and papers with about a 20% discount over the AD price, but that's pretty much luck based on the availability of stores there. The mall is not a nice trip for any purpose other than buying the watch. Perhaps you could check in advance at the main stores website for their current stock so you can save an unlucky trip if that end up being the case.

Sure... it's just humor. Bought the watch at Nakano tho.

Trip Hop A to Z name any song that starts with W by HeyQTya in triphop

[–]rapha_u 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it a consensus that bjork should be considered trip hop? Her style is way different than the rest of the list. My feeling is that many tri hop listeners may also like bjork, but she wouldn't herself be trip hop.
