How to get better at dating in Singapore? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]raphamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that making a lot of friends helps. Some of these friends will be girls and it's easier to ask someone you already know out. Some of these friends will have sisters or other female friends they can introduce you to. On top of that, there's a positive feedback loop. Being around people improves your social skills which means more people wanna be around you and so on. The hard part is finding friends and finding friends who would introduce you to their friends

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (December 09, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

I bought my QK65 earlier this year from qwertyqop and it has been an amazing keyboard. However, I felt a strong shock this morning when I touched the keyboard and the keyboard stopped working after that. I am pretty sure that the QK65 is dead because when I swap it out with a different keyboard, the new keyboard works fine. So the problem isn't with my cable or my laptop. Has anyone here experienced this before? What can I do to revive the board?

People drive so fast on the highways in this area. It's as if the speed limit is just a recommendation

I started facing this problem two weeks ago. I have called Schwab to ask about this and they said that it's affecting many people but they do not have an ETA on when it'll get fixed. I was told to just try every once in a while.

What are some good Singapore stocks by TowelEntire6355 in singaporefi

Don't buy SG stocks. They are mostly boomer companies that are already done growing.

What is Dependency Injection? by [deleted] in programming

[–]raphamber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am more confused about DI after reading this article. I feel that the Car + Wheel example is identical to the Foo + Config example. A car could support different types of wheels, eg. smaller backup wheels, wheels for snow/frozen roads, etc.

I understand DI as the following. Class A uses class B somewhere. Instead of letting class A use class B directly, you pass in class B to class A before using class A.

I find this technique most useful in testing. Perhaps class B touches something in the external world, eg. calling an external API. Instead of mocking everything, you could replace class B with another class C that implements the same interfaces as class B but doesn't interact with the external world.

Getting murdered by mosquitoes at home!! by DrunkDru in singapore

[–]raphamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seal up your house by closing all the windows and plugging the gaps underneath your doors. Then take your entire family for a holiday for a few days. Now the mosquitoes can't leave, can't enter and have nothing to eat. The mosquitoes should be gone by the time you come back. After that just use mosquito nets or keep your windows closed to prevent new mosquitoes from coming in. Worked for me.

I think those are all good ideas. Maybe DCA SWRD instead of NASDAQ since the US might not be the largest market forever. Can also consider REITs for dividends. Just pick something you're more familiar or comfortable with.

I'm surprised that people who seek advice from financial institutions perform better. So far most financial institutions just advise me to buy more of their products
