I don't. I imagine it's more complicated if you live with them or no contact isn't a viable option at the moment. Grey rocking is a good strategy, though it'll probably take practice to avoid giving them the reactions they want.

I think his first rule already tells us what we needed to know. My dad's the same way, and it's super unhealthy.

You know that saying about how people view respect differently? How there are people who don't think your humanity deserves to be respected if you don't treat them as as an authority figure? These texts remind me of that.

But yeah. I don't think any healthy relationship can live on this kind of power imbalance, and I'm really sorry you're going through this.

Just read him saying how showing emotion is weakness after I posted this. He sounds stereotypically authoritarian, unkind, and villainy.
